  1. Happy 2017 for reading and all other passions and pursuits, Frankie! Your lists have put mine to shame, and I haven't even created mine yet! I'll quickly try and get over my feelings of inadequacy, though I'm also happy to see that my recommendations have made the cut .
  2. Lovely lists, Janet! Good luck and happy reading in 2017! :D
  3. Lots of good-reading-wishes to you for 2017, Alex!
  4. Mucho happy reading to you for 2017, Athena! You are so well organized!
  5. I hope you have an excellent 2017, Claire, in reading and otherwise!
  6. A wonderfully organized thread, Willoyd! Love it Happy reading, and I'm looking forward to following you through your US States challenge (and others, of course ).
  7. Have a fab time reading in 2017, Hayley!
  8. Thanks, Ben! I know what you mean about the big door-stoppers I don't remember if you had this one listed, but Joyland is a nice little 'true crime' book King wrote that I loved and would highly recommend as well .
  9. Happy reading, Bobbly! May 2017 be TBR-rrific!
  10. Happy 2017 reading, Ben! Lots of good looking books on that TBR, and I like that you have so many old King books! Including my favorite, The Shining .
  11. Cold and cloudy here. We've had 2 days of snow but only got a couple of inches thankfully. Only 75 days until spring!
  12. Hope you have a groovy 2017 for reading, Noll, and otherwise! :D
  13. Neither have I, and that's a good thing you only scratched your arm, itsmeagain! Never have I ever been down-hill skiing.
  14. Fantastically organized and pretty lists, as always, Kylie! Happy 2017 reading
  15. Bobbly, I'm so happy you bought The Last Runaway! I loved that book, as I love most Chevalier's works. I'm looking forward to hearing what you think about it . I've also read Wells' Ya-Ya books and really enjoyed them as well. On Monday I finished In the Unlikely Event by Judy Blume. It was fiction but centers around real events in 1951/52 when 3 different times commercial airplanes crashed in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Talk about freaky! It was very interesting. Now I'm reading Thrice the Brinded Cat Hath Mew'd by Alan Bradley .
  16. Do you have room for me, Virginia? I can be there in a few days and I'm the perfect house guest!
  17. Bright, sunny and only 7 degrees out, yikes! Only 82 days until the first day of spring
  18. Thanks for the congrats on the new job, everyone, I appreciate it! I'm starting to get the feel of things and getting used to working from home full time. Now the next hurdle of finding a house and moving. I wish you a speedy recovery, Talisman! Good luck on your move today, Noll! I know you can do it and I'm sending you loads of good, positive vibes. You know I have lots on reserve for certain occasions
  19. At the risk of sounding like a whiner, I'll just say I loved parts of each episode but then I also hated parts as well. Seeing everyone again and seeing Stars Hollow was wonderful, as well as seeing how people have changed and where they are in their lives. At the same time, I was disappointed with some of the writing and wanted more of Stars Hollow life and less of some unnecessary drama. I was sad too that some of the old characters only made it into 1 or 2 scenes out of the whole series. I'm also absolutely no expert, but a lot of the things that happened seemed pretty uncharacteristic for people, but maybe it's just me? Anyway, hands down my fave scenes were the ones with the members of Hep Alien. Fabulous stuff!
  20. Congrats to you on your graduation, Virginia!! It must feel so good! Well done to you as well, Talisman, on your recent promotion I've also got good news - I was able to find another job within my company! Just in the nick of time too, since last Friday was to be my last day at my old job. Now that I have that figured out I can feel relaxed at the holidays and start looking for a house to buy closer to town. So much for which to be thankful!
  21. Still plugging away with In the Unlikely Event by Judy Blume and I'm really enjoying it. I love the time period and the setting .
  22. Chilly, damp and foggy here this morning. I miss the sun!
  23. I am in one giant book slump. I can't seem to get excited about anything I pick up, but I think that's because I've had so much weighing on my mind the past few months. I think I'm enjoying In the Unlikely Event, but haven't given it much of a chance lately. Hopefully I'll get the mojo-ness back soon!
  24. Mild and melty! I can see the ground again, thank heavens. It can stay this way until spring and I would not mind one bit
