  1. Is it bad that I want this?: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1594746370/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3H2WIVEXU0BCF&coliid=I97H94XWGX3O3
  2. Haha you sound so confident when you make new plans/schemes for buying or not buying books. Most of us are just like: "Right this time I'm determined not to buy any more... "
  3. You'd better hide! You're supposed to be the strong one!
  4. Reading The Other Side of Dawn, the final book in the Tomorrow series by John Marsden. It's a cracking YA thriller!
  5. That's fine, I have a NOW TV subscription just for exclusive stuff on Atlantic and Virgin, and it stuff usually appears on there before it airs over here.
  6. Very much looking forward to this! Grew up with The X-Files. Any know which channel it will be shown on in the UK?
  7. Luckily I can reserve any book in any Library in Cambridgeshire online and they send it to my nearest one for me to pick up. Without that I wouldn't bother even looking but even with it the range is still what I would call limited. Especially in SF/F and graphic novels.
  8. Good idea, I don't count mine either. But I have started getting more library books rather than just buying them, but I do still buy too many though
  9. Yeah kinda, it's not a criticism as such I just had certain expectations and now I can't tell if it's meeting them or not
  10. Good stuff! How's the TBR pile doing?
  11. Yeah, very slow so far. Doesn't feel like a typical King book to me. Haha I had to stop myself from starting new books. 4 is good for me, usually it's around 7 or 8. Though to be fair I do currently have 2 audio books, 2 graphic novels and a poetry collection on the go as well... Maybe not doing so well Station Eleven is a bit of a strange one, I'm enjoying it a lot but not sure why. It keeps jumping all over the place and doesn't go in the direction I expected, I feel like it is missing a lot of opportunities yet I can't stop reading.
  12. Currently reading: Revival - Stephen King Rivers of London - Ben Aaronovitch Unseen Academicals - Terry Pratchett Station Eleven - Emily St John Mandel All are fairly good but Rivers of London is the one that keeps drawing me back the most.
  13. I'd be interested. This is one I have been meaning to get around to for quite a while.
  14. Great reviews! I am very tempted to re-visit Abercrombie's First Law again. Especially BSC and RC. Glad you liked A Natural History of Dragons as well, how many are out so far? Do they all have equally nice and matching covers/spines?
  15. Did you see the new Patrick Lee novel is out
  16. Great review! May have to add it to the wishlist...
  17. Looking through a book in the charity shop and found a cheque for £70. Not blank unfortunately... also 12 years old . The staff were a bit bemused
  18. Nazi's won the war and the earth was subsequently nuked to oblivion, Nazi's now trying to overtake the galaxy from their base on Mars and have woken an agent whose been frozen for 250 years to track down their opponents.
  19. Just bought this: How could I not!
  20. Also highly recommend Blankets as well. Started it yesterday and didn't want to put it down, got to 200 pages before I was too tired to continue. It's a charming coming-of-age story with great artwork and brilliant writing.
  21. Oh right, well I listened to the audio book so it must have been included in that... exclusive my bum!
  22. Freedom sounds familar, was it at the beginning of Red Country?
