  1. Wow! That's a lot! No, I've read the 'Harry Potter' series quite a few times now.
  2. We had carnival this weekend too. I didn't join in, because it was too noisy and crowded! 'The Knife of Never Letting Go' by Patrick Ness had a very intriguing ending.I want to know what will happen! Here's my final count for the read-a.-thon: Friday: 'The Knife of Never Letting Go' -Patrick Ness 87 Pages Saturday:'The Knife of Never Letting Go'- Patrick Ness 145 Pages Sunday: 'The Knife of Never Letting Go'-Patrick Ness 58 Pages (Finished) 'The Diving-Bell and The Butterfly'- Jean-Dominique Bauby 139 pages (Finished) 'Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine' Gail Honeyman 37 Pages (DNF) 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone'- J.K Rowling (11 pages) Total Pages read: 477 pages I enjoyed all of my reads this weekend, apart from 'Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine'. I stopped reading after 37 pages, because I didn't like the tone of the book. Looking forward to the next read-a-tjhon already!
  3. Today I finished reading 'The Knife of Never Letting Go' by Patrick Ness and 'The Diving- Bell and the Butterfly' by Jean-Dominique Bauby. They were both very different, but I really liked them. Now I'm going to start reading 'Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine' by Gail Honeyman. This book got a lot of hype last year, so I'm interested to see if I'm going to enjoy it. Edit> I started reading 'Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine' by Gail Honeyman and had to stop reading after 40 pages, because I didn't not like it's almost sneering tone. It seemed like everyone (including the writer) was making fun of Eleanor. Even the supposed funny moments I read, just came across as laughing at her, not with her. Am I missing the point of this book, or does anyone else feel like this? Now, I've started 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' by J.K Rowling.
  4. Here's my Progress so for: Friday: 'The Knife of Never Letting Go'- Patrick Ness 97 pages Saturday: 'The Knife of Never Letting Go'- Patrick Ness 145 pages Sunday: I've read the last 59 pages of 'The Knife of Never Letting Go' and I'm really sad, because I have to wait to get the other two books in the series, to find out what's going to happen Now, I'm just about to start 'The Diving-Bell and the Butterfly' by Jean-Dominique Bauby. It's only 139 pages long, so I should get that finished by the end of the day.
  5. Wow the read-a-thon has come around very quickly! It's hard to believe that we will be in March tomorrow.
  6. I finished 'Testimony' by Anita Shreve this morning and I had a bit of trouble reading it at first, but in the end, I quite enjoyed it. Now, I'm reading 'The Knife of Never Letting Go' by Patrick Ness. It seems interesting so far.
  7. 'The first thing you find out when yer dog learns to talk is that dogs don't got nothing much to say. About anything.' 'The Knife of Never Letting go'- Patrick Ness
  8. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the trilogy. I finished reading 'The Passage' a couple of weeks ago and have been worried about reading the next book, just in case it isn't as good as the first!
