Change of info, Nan has just called and said it was more of a historical book about Marylebone, a very small book with tiny writing! Still need help!

I'm looking for a book of Ruth Rendells for my nan. She says it is about Marylebone when it was a market garden, probably 16th century. It isn't The Keys to The Street, can anyone help?
