  1. The Name of the Wind has about 700 pages and its sequel The Wise Man's Fear has 1347 pages! That was quite a challenge
  2. Studying studying studying... Halfway through my exams, four down, four to go!

    1. Inver

      Inver

hope they are going well...my boys are doing exams too..one just finished uni and another final school year

  3. My exams just started yesterday! I have a good feeling about the one I did yesterday but I'm kinda nervous for the one tomorrow!

  4. I am a young hero who just called down fire and lightning and killed some bandits
  5. Maybe you will also like The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. Besides the hero being male I think it fits your criteria. It's the first part of a trilogy and I really enjoyed it
  6. I can also recommend The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss. The first book is named The Name of the Wind and I'm currently reading the second one, The Wise Man's Fear. I absolutely loved the first and so far also loving the second. The third book is still being written I believe.
  7. I totally loved The Name of the Wind and I'm still reading The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss, but I'm already looking for something in this genre to read next. Does anyone have some recommendations?
  8. Yeah I already read the first and I liked it a lot either. They made one book with the whole trilogy in Dutch, so I bought it a few weeks ago and am very curious about part two and three. Ah that's a shame, I really hoped it would be a good book since I find the story very interesting. I will give that a second thought before buying it. No not yet. I still have the possibility to take two re-examinations this week, I have a test tomorrow and I also have to visit my future university this week so I'm very busy. Then I'll have one week vacation and one week free from school to study for my exams and then they begin.. And then hopefully, I will have finished my high school and I will be going to the university
  9. What the night knows by Dean Koontz. It was absolutely terrible. I didn't finish it and returned it a few days after I got it. I won't ever be reading another book he wrote.
  10. I also really liked The Maze Runner. I think it's a fascinating story and there are a lots of turns you don't expect. I was a bit disappointed at the end though, it wasn't really what I expected and I would have preferred a different ending. I am very curious about The Scorch Trials because I feel like the story can go various different ways.
  11. I saw the movie last week. It's a really good movie, but I feel like some things could have been done better. I also thought it was a bit rushed, and I think it would have been better if the movie concentrated more on the games instead of everything before the games. I know the events preceding the games are very important in the book as well, but the movie should have shown more details about the games themselves.
  12. This is my current TBR-list. I will keep updating this because there are way too many books I want to read! The green books are the ones I own. This way you can also see which books I own and which books I will be adding to my bookshelf (buying books has become a slight addiction). The ones that are red are the ones I really want to purchase in the future. The books that are striked through are the ones I read. I don't want to delete those from my TBR-list because I like to see how many books of the list I have already read TBR-list - Beneath the skin by Nicci French - Until it's over by Nicci French - Like a charm by Karin Slaughter - Blindsighted by Karin Slaughter - A faint cold fear by Karin Slaughter - Kisscut by Karin Slaughter - Bloodprint by Kitty Sewell - Buried by Mark Billingham - In the dark by Mark Billingham - Knight errant by Garcia Robertson - The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger (re-read) - Room by Emma Donoghue - Fallen in Love by Lauren Kate - Rapture by Lauren Kate - The Betrayal of Natalie Hargrove by Lauren Kate - The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold - The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - The Hunger Games Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins - The Hunger Games Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins - The Green Mile by Stephen King - The Running Man by Stephen King - The Long Walk by Stephen King - I am number four by Pittacus Lore - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson - The Hobbit by J.R.R. 14. In 2012, I have read 7 books so far, I am now re-reading a book I love, The Time Traveler's Wife, I worked at the bookshop and I bought way too many books already
  15. Maybe you will also like the Matched series by Ally Condie. 1. Matched 2. Crossed 3. Hasn't been announced yet I enjoyed it and I'm a fan of almost all the series recommended here
  16. What a beautiful pictures everyone has! Here's a picture of me This was taken last christmas at my school's ball/gala? (I don't know if that's how you say it anyway, everyone was wearing pretty dresses and tuxedos)
  17. I'm usually not bothered by noises but I do find it very annoying when people are disturbing me when I'm reading. My mom doesn't understand that she can ask me everything she wants when I'm not reading, but when I am I would like to be left alone.
  18. I only lend books to my father. I never trust other people with my books because I'm always afraid they aren't careful with them. I don't like borrowing books either because I'm afraid I'll damage someone else's books and I always want to return them immediately.
  19. I watched This means war at the cinema last night. It was what I expected, funny but nothing new really.
  20. I really liked The secret history and The Time Traveler's wife (re-reading it again!). They're both great books and I hope you will enjoy them
  21. Willoyd and Pontalba, I love your shelves!
  22. That's amazing! How would he find a specific book though...
  23. I don't buy all the books of a series before I start reading because I'm afraid I don't like them and have wasted my money on books that I won't read. When I'm really into a specific series I immediately read all the books if I can. I hate it when the series hasn't been completed yet and I have to wait for the final book(s). I always want to read all the books of the series and know how it ended.
  24. I just finished Crossed, and I thought it was better than Matched. Looking forward to read the final book
  25. I have read the first 70 pages of What the night knows and I was so irritated by it that I didn't finish it. After that, I never took the time to try one of his other books.
