  1. A Walk Across The Sun by Corban Addison. It follows to sisters who loose all their family when a tsunami hits their home town. They head off for Chennai to find refuge in a convent but are kidnapped and sold into the back streets of a brothel in Mumbai where they are sold, beaten and raped repeatedly. It really is an eye opener and I felt like I was in India (although now Mumbai is somewhere I NEVER want to visit). Such a moving book that I think everyone should read at some point!!!
  2. Did anyone read The Crying Tree? If so what were your thoughts? It's been on my wishlist for a while since coming across it on Richard and Judy's bookclub and I've noticed today it's dropped slightly in price on the kindle. Wasn't sure if to bother buying it? Or is more of a library job?
  3. I'd be interested in seeing that. Thanks for info
  4. So I've only just started on these after all these years. I've not even watched any of the films I've just finished book 1 and my question is do they get better? It was ok but nothing special like everyone raves about IMO but I had been told that it isn't until after book 3 it starts to get more adult themed and darker. Just wondering if anyone would agree and if they do get better?
  5. What is with this flood control page that keeps appearing whilst i'm searching the board???

One of my daughters is reading them as well at the moment & she's really enjoying them as well :)

  8. 'What are you thinking, Amy?' The question I've asked most often during our marriage, if not out loud, if not to the person who could answer. I suppose these questions stormcloud over every marriage: 'What are you thinking? How are you feeling? Who are you? What have we done to each other? What will we do?' Just how well can you ever know the person you love? This is the question that Nick Dunne must ask himself on the morning of his fifth wedding anniversary when his wife Amy suddenly disappears. The police immediately suspect Nick. Amy's friends reveal that she was afraid of him, that she kept secrets from him. He swears it isn't true. A police examination of his computer shows strange searches. He says they aren't his. And then there are the persistent calls on his mobile phone. So what really did happen to Nick's beautiful wife? And what was in that half-wrapped box left so casually on their marital bed? In this novel, marriage truly is the art of war... This is a very popular book at the moment and even Richard and Judy are recommending it. Anyone else read it?? Am I the only person who didn't really enjoy it? Please say I'm not. I thought it was going to be amazing and this twist that everyone it going on about. What twist exactly? Did I miss something because I wasn't wowed by a big twist. Oh and the ending I need to discuss the ending with someone!!!
  9. I think I'm going to have to read this. I don't want to miss out on something (if it's as good as people make out).

Yeah it's meant to be the hardest workout on DVD. It's all about maximum interval training. Can change your body in 60 days & the reviews seem to agree. It's certainly intense tho

Yeah, my sister is doing that to lose weight from having 2 babies. She says it can make you feel sick sometimes and that she just wants to stop after the warm-up!

  13. How do you hold on to a love that is slowly slipping away from you? Can you let go of the past when you know what is in the future? And how do you cope when you know that every kiss is a countdown to goodbye? This is the story of a love affair, of Ryan and Molly and how they fell in love and were torn apart. The first time Molly kissed Ryan, she knew they'd be together forever. Six years and thousands of kisses later she's married to the man she loves. But today, when Ryan kisses her, Molly realises how many of them she wasted because the future holds something which neither of them could have ever predicted... I stumbled across this book last year when I was looking to see what books were due out for 2013. I loved the sound of it and was counting the days down until it was available (luckily I only had to wait a few weeks). I’m so glad I read it. This is one of those books that pulls at your heartstrings and you are still thinking about long after you read the last page. I think this is a book to watch out for this year. It took me a while to get in to and I was worried it wasn’t going to live up my expectations. But luckily I wasn’t disappointed …… It starts with an emotional Molly packing up her belongings and moving house. It’s quite clear that she is mending a broken heart. It then jumps from past to present throughout the book and each new chapter starts with a different kiss that Molly and Ryan have had throughout their 6 year relationship. By the end you find out what all the different kisses were about and why they are such a strong theme throughout the book. It's cleverly written and not what you expect. I think the main issue is dealt with well and it makes you think. I personally think Ali Harris has done a wonderful job of bringing it to the forefront. It's an issuse alot of pople turn a blind eye to and not take seriously enough. Maybe people after reading this will think twice and in some cases not be so vain! I don’t want to give too much away. Just stick with it. The book transforms into something completely different and takes a different route altogether. For anyone who loved ‘Me Before You’ by JoJo Moyes then I think you will love this. It’s a book about love and not taking life for granted. Enjoy what you have. If you don’t cry over this book then you must have a heart of stone. I read this book at work and I sat and bawled my eyes out. It is one emotional book!!!!!! YOU WILL NEED TISSUES AND LOTS OF THEM!!!!!
