  1. The biggest intrigue for me was the lady and the girl whose fortune angela read, who saved rorans life accompanied by a random boy. What was that about?? I thought the roran thing was him using the time he defeated 100 men on his own as bravado to scare them off?
  2. ooh I'm so glad you have read Inheritance, now I have someone to talk to!!! yay! For me, I felt there were a lot of open ends that frustrated me and I don't understand why Eragon can't ever come back?? Not even for a holiday?!
  3. aww I don't see Inheritance on your TBR...
  4. I found a copy of When God Was a Rabbit on the train a few months ago, and it was one of the best finds, so funny! Have you had the nativity play yet?? I have gotten about halfway through Wuthering Heights, and I am struggling. I am not a classic reader at all, but my friend is working her way through them, having just read all of Jane Austen and I thought maybe it was time to give them another go as I havent read any since school. Anyways, needless to say it is not going well!
  5. Hey Ben That's great news, looking forward to having someone to discuss it with! I don't want to spoil it for you so I won't say much, but there are some definite loose ends/plot holes left!
  6. Seeing this topic has made me jump to the karate kid remake...oh dear. I really hope that they leave the classic 80s movies alone, imagine a remake of The Goonies or The Mighty Ducks...
  7. Hello there peeps! I have just returned from Oz where I have been on holiday, and whilst I was away I worked my way through Inheritance by Christopher Paolini, the fourth Eragon book. I was wondering if anyone else has read it yet as am keen to discuss it and no one in my real world reads fantasy so am looking to talk to someone in my virtual world instead! :sign0163:

    Ice Hockey

I blame the lack of coverage on having Dave Simms as the presenter, there is only so much you can take!

    Ice Hockey

I am a big UK ice hockey fan, I support the Nottingham Panthers. They show this on Sky Sports too on a friday night, they have a highlights show and then show a live game once every couple of months.
  10. I love Bones too Anyone know when the new series is on?
  11. First thing that jumps to mind is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, although perhaps a little obvious, it is an excellent exploration of human morality and in particular, racism.
  12. Welcome Lynda Can't believe you are a chick lit fan who likes Irish authors and you haven't mentioned Maeve Binchy or Cecilia Ahern (or is that because you hate them lol).
  13. This might be an incredibley girly thing to do, but I have a file on my computer for all my favourite quotes (most of them from books) that I add to whenever I come across one that makes me pause. This doesn't happen ever so often, but that makes the ones that do even more meaningful. For instance, the last two; It didn’t feel like the pain had weakened over time, rather that I’d grown strong enough to bear it. Bella, New Moon – Stephanie Meyer I realised that maybe the need to be remembered is stronger than the need to remember Elly, When God Was a Rabbit - Sarah Winman :sign0163:
  14. I have to admit that the majority of my books are hand me downs from my dad, he is excellent at choosing books that are to my taste. They are a mixute of new and old authors. Other than that I am inspired by other peoples reviews and recommendations. I am not too bothered whether I have come away learning something or having understood the moral of the story. For instance, I love The Time Travellers Wife and think that the plot device is excellent, however I haven't come away from it knowing anything new about the world. just perhaps myself
  15. I would recommend you take a look at Michelle Moran
