  1. I've gathered some more info about your recommendation Jose Saramago and now I will definitely read some of his books.
  2. Hi, everybody I hope you can recommend me a book that satisfy my three requirements listed below: - represents innovative idea - has unpredictable finale - and is not full of annoying cliches I made a little retrospection about the last five books that I have read and the conclusion was that four of them represented simple idea which I have heard about somewhere, sometime, in two of them I successfully guessed "who the killer is" or in other words how the book would end. In all five most of the phrases exchanged by the characters sounded like banal TV series. Only in "Poltic" things weren't following the path covered by cliches. I didn't get the whole idea but the spectacular final made me feel completely compensated. Thank you for your suggestions.
  3. There are billions of well written books, nice, interesting stories that grab our attention but which ones have had real impact on us. Books that have changed our way of thinking, stories that have made us better people? I know that a question like this looks pretty vague, so let me give an example. When I was 15 years old I read "Catch 22". Since than there are countless moments in my life when I refer back to this book and think about the absurdities that I have encountered in it. That book made me accept the crazy world around me easily and with a wide grin on my face. Tell me your Impact books?
  4. I started reading "The unsuspecting mage" but it was just to simple and I did not finish it.
  5. When I was a student a was reading at least 1 every week, but know I just don't have time and read 1 book within a month.
