  1. Aww! Thank you all for the lovely warm welcome messages.
  2. Exercise is something that I really need to work on too. I do a lot of walking anyway, to and from work and I usually go for a walk in my lunch hour too, but that's about it. I have never been to a gym in my life before (other than when I was in high school that is) and I just can't see me starting now. A few of my work colleagues go the gym or Zumba and one even goes to spin, so I suppose I could always tag along with them but to be honest with you I'm not really a gym kind of person... at all! Maybe I should just stick to my walking. I'm sure I could fit in a couple of extra walks per week.
  3. I don't drive and tend to walk whenever possible. My place of work is only a 25-30 minute walk away so I'm quite lucky in that respect.
  4. Oh God, I desperately need to try and lose a little bit of weight and definitely need support in doing so... what can I say, I'm weak and have a sweet tooth. In fact if I'm honest I think all my teeth are sweet! I feel like I've eaten nothing but crap for the last few months and even more so recently with all the chocolates, biscuits, cakes and goodness knows what else there is sitting around both in my own home and at my place of work. Work is a bit of a killer because there is always a box of chocolates or a bag of sweets or something sitting around somewhere all year long, however as long as I don't start eating them I'm okay, but once I have one, then I'll sit and pick at them on and off all day. Home, however, is another matter entirely. The key I find is not buying the stuff to begin with. If it's not in the house, I can't eat it and don't miss it. If, however, I know it's sitting in the cupboard, then I'm a lost cause! Still a New Year means new resolutions and being more careful with what I eat is a definite must for me this year and as from today I'm going to try and cut out all those Oh-so-nice things that are Oh-so-bad-for-me! Who's with me?!
  5. Last year I happened to catch the made for TV movie based on the Debbie Macomber book Mrs Miracle on TV and as it was such a sweet Christmassy story decided to treat myself to the book. Today, nearly a whole year after it came into my possession, I finally made a start on it. Cute book!

  7. Happy New Year everyone! Phew! Now that that's out of the way, I figure I'd better introduce myself... although there isn't really all that much to say. I'm The Sleepy Reader, I'm {cough} in my late twenties and I'm a bookaholic. I do, however, have a little bit of a confession to make and that is that although I am a bookaholic I've actually been in a little bit of a reading slump for the past few months. Not that that has stopped me from buying books though... I think I may actually have a little bit of a problem when it comes to that side of things. Still, what better thing to do than join a book related forum - I'm sure this place is full of people like me. {waves hello} Anyway, as I was saying my reading slump has lasted a lot longer than it ever has before, although on the plus side it does seem to have slowly disappeared over the last week or two. It's just a shame that although I've been in the mood for reading and have had a few extra days off work due to Christmas (which would usually allow me lots of extra reading time) I haven't actually had the time to do any because I've been busier than ever. Which is just blimmin' typical. Still with a four day weekend stretching ahead of me and absolutely no plans I'm hoping that that's all about to change and now that I've joined the Book Club Forum - which looks fab by the way - I'm sure I will get my reading mojo back in a jiffy! Errr... what else is there to say? Hmmm... when I am reading I tend to read more contemporary women's fiction than anything else (including chick lit I hasten to add, which I know gets looked down upon by many readers, but I for one love it) but to be honest as long it has the ability to draw me in then I'll pretty much read anything. I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas and a happy (and safe) New Year and I'll hopefully see you around the place. - The Sleepy Reader
