  1. Loved the first four I keep meaning to read the last three but I heard V-V11 aren’t as good as the first four.
  2. Welcome To Dead House by R.L Stine. The first of his Goosebumps series and the first horror novel I ever read the book started my obsession for all things horror. I can’t remember my first fantasy or Sci-Fi books I first read sadly . They were most likely in comic book form though.
  3. I’m not much of romance reader but I always thought Lady Chatterley’s Lover was great romance/love book.
  4. It all comes down to fact that book has more time to develop the story and characters and has more time for you to experience the settings, the characters ETC. A book makes you feel like you actually there if a book is well written it makes you connect with the material. A film to doesn’t do that most film are only two hours long so they don’t have time for the depth. Books are easily better than their adaptations but there a rare cases like Forrest Gump and Jaws
  5. Are there any fans of the late splatterpunk writer Richard Laymon on this board. I enjoy his work immensely and always have a good time when I read any of his novels. I have always felt he was an overlooked and underappreciated horror writer. I am alone here?
  6. I am self confessed comic book freak I enjoy every genre or sub genre of the comic medium. I do enjoy comics aimed more for adults and can only get behind dark characters. I do find it strange how comic books and graphic novels have become more mainstream and respected over the last few years. Like the OP stated a few years back anyone who said they read comics and were over twenty were labelled as geeks. I am happy to note that the stupid notion of comics being fluff for kids and are nothing but guys in spandex has nearly completely died out. I read comics like I read books were some graphic novels I own being even better written or more enjoyable than critically acclaimed novels. Watchmen and The Crow come to mind. Does anyone here read Marvel’s MAX line or DC’S Vertigo line they are comic books and graphic novels books aimed for mature readers and are quite brilliant. Okay rant over.
