I used to like Family Guy, but some of their stuff now is too far... Good ol' old family guy!

  2. I've read a couple of books this year which I'd class (perhaps incorrectly) as gothic fiction and would love to know some classics of the genre that I can seek out to read. I've read Frankenstein, Dracula, The Historian and The Poe Shadow. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  3. Bought The Fry Chronicles today...cannot wait to start it! Absolutely loved Moab is my Washpot. Anyone out there reading it yet?
  4. I can only think of two books which have made me really cry - At Swim, Two Boys by Jamie O'Neill and Les Miserables by Victor Hugo: "He sleeps. Although so much he was denied, He lived; and when his dear love left him, died. It happened of itself, in the calm way That in the evening night-time follows day."
  5. I would choose Frankenstein too. Have read a couple of the options listed - enjoyed Catcher in the Rye but I bet lots of people choose that!
  6. I don't play an instrument - I am just a keen listener! I like absolutely all sorts...all-time favourites are Morrissey/Smiths & Pet Shop Boys. More recent favourites are Band of Horses, Arcade Fire, Villagers, We Are Scientists, Mumford & Sons, Fanfarlo, Laura Marling, Noah and the Whale....the list goes on. How about you?
  7. It's a fantastic show, performed in it once and performing in a production again in the autumn. Hope you enjoyed it at Regent's Park - very jealous! A friend of mine saw it there and was blown away by it.
  8. Hi there, Matt here - just joined BCF this evening and really looking forward to getting involved. I like to read a wide variety of genres - fiction and non-fiction - and hope to take part in plenty discussions. Currently reading 'The Day of the Jackal' by Frederick Forsyth and, must confess, I'm not finding it as gripping as I'd expected...so far, anyway. As well as reading, my other big passion is music...can't imagine my life without it! I also enjoy socialising, Am-Dram and going to the gym (when I get the time).
