  1. More football

Argh!! The ONLY time I ever get a score right!!!
  2. Fantasy Dinner Party

Ok, for mine... Stephen Fry - of course! Anne Boleyn - and hope she's as good looking as Natalie Dormer (she played her in The Tudors)!! Also ask her if she really wanted to cause as much trouble as she did! Winston Churchill - and hear the secrets from the War. It fascinates me. Terry Pratchett - to hear tales of Discworld, and ban talk of evil diseases.
  3. Help with the name of a book?

Could it be Shipwrecked! possibly? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Shipwrecked-Adventurous-Four-Enid-Blyton
  4. More football

My prediction would be 2-1 to PNE tonight if I'm honest. We don't seem to have much joy at your place. But we'll see
  5. The last DVD you watched? (Cont..)

Oh, I agree. I loved the orginal Battlestar, but the new one is just amazing. DS9 is great as well, so underrated as a Star Trek series. I'll have to get all of them again at some point. By the way, if you get a chance check out Caprica, the BSG prequel. Its got potential, seen the first couple of episodes and it looks like it could be good.
  6. More football

My lot - Sheffield United - are away to Preston North End this evening. Oh, what joy Kinda worried where our season is going. Losing Kilgallon was a nightmare in the transfer window. We need to steady the ship, regel the team, and then pray we can get the results between now and the end of the season to keep us in the Play Offs. Then, if the miracle did occur, play better than we did against Burnley last year in the Play Off Final...
  7. The Black Magician Trilogy - Trudi Canavan

For the attention of Raven - you said you'd be interested to hear what I thought of these books and, as I've just finished The Magician's Guild, I wanted to let you know my feelings. The Magician's Guild, the first book of the trilogy, starts slowly, building a picture of the world that Sonea, the main character, lives in. Its an intriguing world, and one that Canavan paints rather well, if a little laboriously. I won't spoil any of the book for anyone else interesting in reading it, but it deals with a young girl, Sonea, who is found to be an untrained magician and comes to the attention of the Magician's Guild, who want to train her before she becomes a danger to herself and the world. The main content doesn't really start till Act 2. Its here that we find out a lot more about the protagonists, in particular the Guild, and the background to where this is all going. It is well written, despite the laborious nature of the first 100 pages or so, and comes to an ending that leads well into wanting to read the second book. I'd recommend sticking with it if magicians and intrigue, with a little sprinkle of deceit, are your type of thing. Its no Harry Potter kind of magic, and it had potential to be more something much more. The Magician's Guild - 7 out of 10.
  8. The last DVD you watched? (Cont..)

Battlestar Galactica Season 1 - the remake of course, not the old Dirk Benedict starring one. And it is fantastic, probably the best sci-fi TV of the Noughties tbh.
  9. New Films You're Waiting To See

There's a few I'm waiting for at the moment - Alice In Wonderland - Tim Burton, Johnny Depp, and a Mad Hatter. Says it all, can't wait! Clash Of The Titans - 21st Century update of the stop-motion classic. Trailer looks fantastic, should be a cool movie. Iron Man 2 - the first was a kick-ass ride and I'm really looking to it. Besides - warning, guy moment here - Scarlet Johannsen in black leather?? Oh my God yes please!
  10. Favorite Song lyrics

Nine Inch Nails - The Only Time "i'm drunk. and right now i'm so in love with you. and i don't want to think too much about what we should or shouldn't do. lay my hands on Heaven and the sun and the moon and the stars. while the devil wants to f**k me in the back of his car. " Nine Inch Nails - Something I Can Never Have "In this place it seems like such a shame. Though it all looks different now, I know it's still the same Everywhere I look you're all I see. Just a fading f**king reminder of who I used to be." Two of my favourite songs of all time, and both have immense meaning to me.
  11. ~Your Favourite Films~

Totally. There's something, erm, efficient about the movie. Driven might be a better word, possibly. And the scene with Norton and his boss in his office?? Best scene of a movie. Ever.
