If you are not running in a nightmare it will catch you ! Then you might not wake up....

  3. I nearly bought it yesterday as both a big fan of Pullman and anything fairytale like....will get it eventually I expect
  4. haven't been on much well at least posting just been a bit hectic at work and too tired to contemplaye anything other than work dinner tv and bed in the evening. Still trying to decide what to do for the big 40 in a months time, i am now thinking a spa weekend in devon with a friend quite expensive as I want a pampery one. what else is new???? spent some of the day with my dad as my mum has abandoned him to go to spain for a week to celebrate her birthday with her sisters....both she and my dad reach 70 this year too so its big one for 3 of us. Party central hows everyone else?
  5. I loved the barn too, it was very inspired cration. didn't really like Brendan's it was far to twee, though I acknowledge his ability to cook Brendan is loosing a lot of peoples votes because he does come across as being really smug. who's favourite now for you?
  6. Cheers guys it went down a treat though I am currently covered in glitter...what brilliant stuff it is edible glitter... Chrissy thats so exciting I hope you have a great time.
  7. I haven't been on much recently i do come on and have a look but don't get much of a chance to post. work is mad am short staffed on a million different projects across all the regions so am too knackered in the evenings. However it does seem to be getting better though we are getting busier. I also volunteered to make my nieces birthday cake which is tomorrow so here is the finished piece extra glitter all round she is 6 and loves princess stuff.
  8. Its been a while and I have been busy in the studio this is one I have completed recently and i am pretty happy with it, even though i was squinting towards the end.
  9. i am part way through Notes From a Walnut Tree Farm - Roger Deakin and i have a lovely quote from it I want all my friends to come up like weeds, and I want to be a weed myself, spontaneous and unstoppable. I don't want the kind of friends one has to cultivate. its a lovely and relaxing read for last thing before bed.
  10. not read any of them though I might read The Lighthouse as it was written by the sister in law of someone at work.
  11. Can totally recommend the next two Ben Aaronovitch's books were excellent, I loved Molly but i also loved the rivers, they were brilliantly portrayed
  12. I have abandoned Death comes to Pemberley P D James but I will go back to it at some point I just have to be in the moood for it.
  13. I really enjoyed the opening ceremony last night though only stayed up til about 11.30 as I had to go to work this morning, that was probably my only bug bear with that its the middle of the week so a real pain. I am now trying to watch the coverage of todays events but i do have to say i am finding the ad breaks a bit irritating they seem to squeeze small ones between each heat in the swimmming meaning you do lose a little of the momentum.
  14. I was a bit suprised by Victoria going out last night though she hasn't had a good couple of weeks but i do think there were some definite weaker ones in the group.... I love this show though Paul and Mary are brilliant and I love that Mel and Sue are quite irreverent
  15. I am currently reading Black Swan Rising - Lee Carroll so far its been good a bit Deborah Harkness (though not as good) although i have just discovered its a trilogy, oh for the days when it was only one book rather than having to wait for the rest of a series to come out!!
  16. woo hoo just watched it whats first impressions then?
  17. I am totally lost without the Olympics or the 'limpids' as my totally irritating non sporty friend insists on calling it. There were so many exciting and great moments and thankfully i got to watch a lot of things I would never watch thanks to the internet and the red button. I am ambivelant about the closing ceremony there were moments which I enjoyed but there were also moments where I got bored and switched of. The choice of music at times left me cold. I can't stand George Michael and thought he looked a complete idiot prancing around dressed as if he were about 20 years younger. I don't mind about the boy band stuff though the spice girls leave me totally cold, i just have to remember that most of the atheletes are in fact pushing 20 years younger than me and if they want to 'rock out' to that then its fine with me. The only bit that really jarred and I read quite a vitriolic article damming the whole show although I don't agree with a lot of it, it did highlight one section which I too thought was odd and slightly offensive and that was the celebration of british Fashion, why oh why having just spent over 2 weeks celebrating the achievements of hard working atheletes did they insist on showing large posters of men and women celebrating a body image none of us can ever hope to achieve in an industry which promotes size 0 and anorexia in increasingly younger and younger children. I just found that really odd and surreal. There were many great moments, Jess Ennis, Mo Farrah, but for me the nest atmosphere was in the velodrome I was of my chair shouting regularly to get team GB to win even when they didn't the riders who won (and there were only a handful of non team GB) like Anna Mears did so because they deserved it. Wiggo though for me still gets the personality of the year!
  18. currently sporting a new fragrance eau de Germolene to counteract the 20 bites at the top of each arm....love this damp humid weather and the feasting that comes with it!

I have worn this fragrance many times too, along with tea tree oil and sudocreme!

They don't like me which is something you think I'd be glad about but ridiculously I feel slighted. Hope the weather changes soon pickle and that we get some good dry sunshine.

  19. Completely agree I think Michael Johnson is a legend, he asks insightful questions doesn't rise to childish gags but demonstrates a good sense of humour. Cannot stand John Inverdale or Linnekar. Loved Thorpe he has some mad stary eyes doesn't he!!! Clare Balding is just so funny. I love the late Olympic round up show its usually such a laugh. Really looking forward to Bolt tonight hope its as good a race as its being built up to.
  20. just watched the rythmic gymnastics so so difficult might have to pop of to watch the BMX racing though to get a bit of adrenaline and shouting at the computer screen going
  21. You know I am enjoying watching quite a few of the sports on the red buton on the bbc, the only problem is when its one of the other field events for example there is no commentary so I have no idea who the person is and where they stand in the rankings sometimes...a little frustrating but my only bug bear with the coverage... Chesil i know they do have more on eurosport but unfortunately its one of the channels I would have to pay for and at the moment anything extra is out of my league...
  22. I only got to see bits of the seeding but it didn't look that exciting can't wait for the proper race though very much like the snowboard cross from what I can gather. I watched a doc on Pendelton and it seems she lived very much for her emotions its how she performed at her best by using what she was feeling to her advantage, sometimes though it obviously can go wrong. Great ambassador for her sport though. About the Personality of the year, I still think it should be Bradley because of what he has achieved somthing no other Brit has done as well as win a gold medal a couple of weeks later. I did totally disagree with something that Denise Lewis said the other day about there should be a separate category for men and women in the programme particularly in an Olympic Year but to me that is just taking a step backwards surely the point is to get womens sport on equal footing with the mens, both by being promoted and shown more on the tv. Every Olympics I wonder where the sports not normally seen dissapear too as they are not shown on the mainstream channels and are great fun but if its not mens football or rugby so good luck finding it.
  23. Hilarious fact from yesterday should Yorkshire go for independence they would lie 11th on the table as of yesterday
  24. Fantastic nail biting finish to the track cycling I was shouting at the tv when Chris Hoy was cycling phew I can take no more of this!!!! another great day of everthing.
  25. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-19147035 I have to share this woth you as its something my company has been and continues to be involved in and a very worthy cause
