  1. The DI is completely safe, he might be her little helper though. I want the audience to question her sanity, and they should want to her to get away with it. Always good to be present at the birth of a new idea. The worst thing is when you have an idea that's more exciting than what you're currently working on. Sounds a bit Bladerunnery. Cool. Hope you'll give my script a read before I do the mail out to production companies. Enjoy your musing...

  2. Tee-hee. By the time I get to the BAFTA's I'll be easy to recognize, everyone will be tripping over my zimmer frame whilst I try to stalk Ken Stott. I prefer grit to gloss. But I'm aiming for a northern Lynda La Plante so I guess its inbetween. I'm trying to steer clear of police procedural and write it through the eyes of a very amiable serial killer who runs a shelter for victims of domestic abuse. She only kills the bad guys and composts them. She's sleeping with the local DI too. I've promised myself a read of the fantasy market just as a change from crime.

  3. I'd never make it on the list either as theyre notoriously snotty when it comes to crime drama. Good job I'm a script writer, I'll be BAFTA bound before I know it. A good edit always feels better and a map or list helps no end. I've got about 50 mins of TV so far, so I'm about a third of the way in. Trying to be original in the crime genre is prooving tricky but at the very worst its at least as rubbish as other stuff on TV, and at the best it's a diverting life challenge that I'll never let go. Keep the faith matey....everything is possible! ;-)

  4. How's the book coming along. Didn't see you on the Booker Prize list, you must be holding out for next year. Hope all's well in your world.

  5. Good. Don't know how you'd feel about it, but I planted a tree for my dad. I can look at it and remember. Always here if you need an ear x

  6. No need to apologize Janet. You're just acknowledging your feelings that's all. My dad died 4 years ago, so I remember it all too well. And you're bound to feel very wobbly for a while. Not only do you have your own grief, but you worry about everyone else too. Photo's are hard, music too. I don't mean for this to sound daft, but they never leave you. You'll carry him round in your soul, and you'll see him in your kids.

I think that's a lovely thing to do for the funeral. We had my dads favourite tunes too.

Chin up lass. You are doing him proud. X

  7. How are you doing? Hope you and your family are ok under the circumstancesx Lauren

  8. So sorry to hear your news Janet. I hope you're getting all the support you need, but if you need a shoulder or need something to talk/shout/cry at, don't hesitate. Take care hun, you're in our thoughts. Lauren x

  9. I hear you on the mid-week blues front. I'm getting made redundant so it's the horrors of a serious job search. Thanks for the recommendation. I can't think of a genre of music that I don't like. I like bits of everything. As for the gig tomorrow, I've got a free VIP pass. My best friends daughter works at the venue. Every cloud......

  10. I'm going to see the Dropkick Murphy's tomorrow. I would have missed it if you hadn't told me who they were. Thanks. How are you?

  11. Aaah penny dropping now. I'm all for teaching the young 'uns about self reliance, I think we baby them far too much. What a fabulous example to set Mac.

I know its all lies, you just wanted an excuse to dress in a nuns habit and sing the Sound of Music, and up a mountain was the only place you could get away with it.

Tell the truth....the sponsorship money goes to pay your therapist......doesn't it. LOL

Lost my crappy day job today, but if I'm gainfully employed by the time you venture forth Highland style, stick me down for a tenner.

  12. And when you got through all that, you went home and the sun came out!!!! Ain't life grand. Congratulations matey. Where are you and you Kendal Mint Cake conquering next then?

  13. Hope the blisters aren't giving you too much grief and hope you had a great trip. CN x

  14. Your gerbil is a right poser in front of the camera!! Has he been watching America's Top Model?? Hope all's well with you x

  15. Glad you approve. Lol. Always brightens the place up does Dylan. Yup, all's well in my world, been playing in my garden in the sunshine, put a bet on the national, and freed a giant bee that got stuck in my sideshow Bob hair. How's things with you?

  16. I'll change the avatar in a bit, I get bored really quickly. Haven't made any summer plans yet. I'd better be off to pack for this weekend. Hope you a peachy weekend. And I'll be back next week.

  17. If you know your stuff, or look and sound like you know your stuff and you have a desire to teach, you'll be fine. Let us know how you go on, and if you need to talk about it before hand, I'm happy to listen, help or whatever you need

  18. I did a PGCE. It's not that tough a course compared to your third year. Just be organised and look teacher-ish and take deep breaths when you feel edgy. You'll be fine x

  19. Oooh dissertation joy. I remember that. What are you studying? I don't bother with Easter either....just an excuse for more chockies and an extra day or two off so I can write.

  20. Thanks for accepting. I'm fairly groovy...I'm just had a Gene Hunt fix, and now True Blood, what more does a girl need. I'm off to the sticks for a weekend away tomorrow. Change is as good as a rest and all that. How's things with you? (Coffin Nail) Laurenx

  21. Glad you told somebody. I've had a lovely day today, and I'm just off to bed after a late night last night. I can't do late night anymore it takes me a week to recover. Catch you tomorrow no doubt. Happy word associating. Night x

  22. Hi Abbie, I just read your post about your 'uncle'. I'd tell your mum if I were you. Drunken uncles, getting intouch sounds a bit creepy to me. Take care hun. xx

  23. Lol. But no sinister lurking. I'm always glad when people stop by. Hope you're well

  24. lol. I had a lecturer at uni with long grey hair and it really suied her, she was a bit hippie and witchy tho, I think men look good with a bit of distinguished grey, especially if its peppered. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend, I'm off to wrestle with the tweezers....Hate tweezing it makes me sneeze. But its either that or looking like a Gallagher brother, and there are limits. X

  25. My hair has been all different colours. But as I had my son when I was 23 I thought it best to tone it down a tad. A goth pushing a baby buggy is just so WRONG. I got my first grey hair when I was 20. I'd love to let it grow our to see how grey I am, but I'd probably look like a red neck's mule, so I think I'll to chocky colours as that was what it was originally. Your hair is really lovely, don't dye it till you have to. It's a right pain
