  1. Its growing on me. I use it as a sort of patch to get me through Downton withdrawal. But it makes for the sort of viewing I enjoy doing my Sunday maintainance jobs to. Those toenails don't paint 'emselves you know.
  2. I've just started Nightfall. So far, so good.
  3. I watched the Inbetweeners last night. Very amusing in a 'check your brain' way. The final frames of the film were the best thing about it. If you liked the TV series, you'll like the movie. It's more of the same.
  4. Titanic- not only the name of the ship, but the only thing big enough to describe James Cameron's ego. Made even worse by Celine Dion's warbling.
  5. The choir sing choral versions of rock/gospel/motown songs. At the mo they're working on Valerie by the Zutons, Where you lead by Carol King and Aint no Mountain High Enough by The Supremes. I didn't know quite what to expect. It wasn't so much an audition as making sure where to put me and making sure I could carry a tune ok. Just like school, I'm in the middle at the back. Had a great time. I'd forgotten how much I like singing. It's good when there's someone else to take the blame.
  6. I'm teaching myself the ukelele...its very early days and tonight I'm auditioning for a rock choir.
  7. I went back a few pages but I didn't see a thread. Is anyone watching this? I'm glued. I sit there all curled up with tension, hiding behind a cushion, from the minute it starts to the closing credits. The tension never lets up. All that horror, taking place in usually bright sunshine. And sometimes you can see the zombies over acting. But if you've got a strong stomach, give it a whirl. Whirl til you hurl.
  8. I only watched one episode, and I just thought it was so blah, just another generic cop show. The books were far from that. Such a shame. It's so rare that they get crossovers right. Dexter being a noteable exception. Not often you can crush on a serial killer. Quite unnerving
  9. I can't remember being so disappointed in a TV crossover for ages. In fact, not since John Hannah's portrayal of Rebus. I really liked the Gerritsen series too. Has anyone seen it?
  10. Thanks for the bday wishes. When I've finished spreading horse poo about the place, I'll be back. X

Take your time, and don;t forget to take a shower! :P

  11. I haven't bought a book at all this year, but I'm at the library once a month. The only exception to the rule is Stuart Macbride's latest which I'm waiting to come out in paperback. That said, I still have over 20 books that have been on my shelves for ages that I've never even opened.
  12. Don't take any notice of me, it just wasn't my cup of tea. The story was a bit too thin, several continuity errors but if you can overlook that then you might like it.
  13. Not said 'hi' for ages, new allotment unsurprisingly time consuming. I'm busy obsessing about green beans! Hope everyone's thriving and surviving x

Yes, you have been out of circulation, haven't you? Welcome back!

  14. I'm about 5 chapters into my first Patricia Cornwell novel, Scarpetta. So far, so good. I'm reading the rest in the series, all out of sequence, and I hope the rest are as good. Another 20 or so books to my TBR pile. There is snow on it's upper peaks.
  15. Yay! The place wasn't the same without you Cookie
  16. Goldfrapp-Black Cherry, Paolo Nutini--Sunny Side Up & The Cure--Greatist Hits. All on CD
  17. Jon Cryer....Class act!!

Yes, he rally is good. For me he is the true star of the show.

  18. Was reading Halfhead by Stuart Macbride but I wasn't struck. Despite being a huge MacBride fan I much prefer the Logan McRae series. So I swapped sci-fi for politics and started Alistair Campbell's The Blair Years. Very interesting and entertaining. It's interesting to see the perspective of a master of spin and the dark arts.
  19. Who else is a Jedi on their Census form??

Being a Jedi isn't ridiculus enough, I'm putting Scientlogist down!

  20. Brilliant day for working in the garden. Veggie patch seeds sown, seen the first bee and bat of the season, and went to see the new lambs. Hurrah for spring. :-)

Don't feel bad miss Pickle. This morning was frosty so my seeds are probably scuppered anyway. And best to start 'em early CW, that chimney won't clean itself :-)

  21. Just had a Leo-packed afternoon, The Departed followed by Revolutionary Road. Not a barrel of laughs but Kate's always worth a watch.
  22. I'm finding the second book much more entertaining than the first. I still think its all a bit overhyped.
