  1. I'm still watching. I really liked this week's episode. I think it may be the best so far; it felt a lot more like Doctor Who this week than it has been. All the other episodes have seemed a bit rushed.
  2. I love the new Weetabix adverts with the horse and jockey. Jockey: "There's nothing more important than a high-fibre breakfast." Horse: "And facing adversity like a mighty warrior." It goes something like that, anyway.
  3. I refuse to read Twilight. Do I even need to give a reason?
  4. I'm a little different. Instead of reading bits of the books when I want to choose one to read, I read the first few pages of all the books I buy as soon as I buy them. That way, when it comes to choosing something to read, I'll already have the feel of the book, so I know which book I'll get along with at the time.
  5. Free Spirit - Orchestra JB It's really funky!
  6. Yay, I got Alakazam! He's got some wicked spoons. Not sure I completely agree with the thingamabob, though.
  7. I'm watching a Family Guy marathon on BBC Three. I haven't laughed so much in ages!
  8. One of them would be reading magazines like Heat and Closer. I try to stay away from them, but they circulate round our Lolfa (the school's sixth-form lounge) and I can't resist! Another would be pancakes. We don't have them often, but when we do... yum! Ooh, and Nigella Lawson's cookery shows. I think she's brilliant; if her show is on, I'll watch it.
  9. I'm with you on this one! I like the Vintage Classics ones too - aside from being the easiest to read, they always have great covers! An example would be The Picture of Dorian Gray. I tried to read it before (Worsdworth Classics edition) and it did nothing but get on my nerves. I got a different edition (Penguin Classics - the ones with the black band) and I love it! It's funny how much the print size can impact how enjoyable a book is.
  10. I'm a boy called Will, and my best friend and I have just been caught by a man with some quite peculiar tattoos.
  11. I generally just stare at the bookshelf until a book stands out to me. It usually doesn't take too long to choose the next book; most of the time I've already got a few books going anyway.
  12. Ooh, good thread! I think I may be alone on this one, but I thought Fahrenheit 451 ended too suddenly. It's like the story was going, going, going... and then it just sort of stopped. Amazing book, but I just felt like it was a bit cut off at the end.
  13. Only 23 hours and 7 minutes 'til the next episode! I'm excited.
  14. Fair point. Do you know of any books where werewolves or vampires have been written well? I'm finding it difficult to find anything good - the market seems to be overrun by Twilight (ew) and other books that are just as rubbish.
  15. LOL! That made me laugh so much. I didn't like Titanic. It's not my kind of film at all. And I must agree with you on Percy Jackson, Kell - it looked good on the trailers, but I hadn't read the books (a friend had) and it was the most predictable film I've ever seen! It was quite entertaining, though, so I didn't mind. I thought Hades and Persephone were the best part of it.
  16. Aww, I love Jesse! He should sing more songs!
  17. Hi guys! I wanna join. I've just read through all ten pages of this thread, and it's all very helpful stuff! While I may only be 17, I can't actually remember a time when I was thin/of a healthy weight. I've always been overweight for my age, and now it's just completely out of control and I want to do something about it. Luckily for me, my mother has recently bough a treadmill and rowing machine to go alongside the cross-trainer my brother's girlfriend kindly gave to us. My main problem is with finding the time to exercise (schoolwork... ugh); and I need to stop snacking! My school timetable means that I don't get to have lunch on most days, so when I get home I'm usually starving so I head straight for the fridge. Not any more, though! I intend to formulate a plan tomorrow to be put into effect immediately. This thread is so helpful, though; you can't know how thankful I am for it! ^.^
  18. I'm Welsh, but consider myself British. I must therefore agree with what other have said: Stephen Fry. :-) Why has he not been knighted?!
  19. I agree! I think Derren Brown is strangely attractive. Oh, and Matt Smith, the new Doctor Who.
  20. The seller of lightning rods arrived just ahead of the storm. Something Wicked This Way Comes, Ray Bradbury
  21. I read painstakingly slowly; generally I don't mind because I can appreciate the story more, and it means that I don't miss out on so many details. If it's a 'popcorn book', it takes a few days to get through (Skulduggery Pleasant only took about 6 hours, though). Most books take me at least a week, mostly due to the fact that school work takes up almost all of my spare time. I'll be so glad when the summer holidays are here.
  22. I've really gone off Jim Butcher, especially the Dresden Files series. The first one was good, but then he went into werewolves. I enjoyed the characters, so I stuck with the books, and I really enjoyed the third one, but then he went on to vampires! The vampires began featuring far too heavily for my liking, and I just went off the series. I hate vampires and werewolves. They're bland, IMO.
  23. The last DVD I watched was Dorian Gray. I liked it, but I didn't quite understand the ending, so now I'm reading the book. Maybe then it'll make sense.
  24. I find it annoying that they keep changing the time, too. And I got it wrong in my earlier post. It was right when I started writing it, but then I got distracted halfway through. Dr Who is on at 18:25 this week. They should just keep it to being on at 7 o' clock like it was before. It was so much easier to follow when it was always on at the same time.
  25. The second part of last week's episode is on in 25 minutes! Yay! I liked last week's. The weeping angels always make me jump, and I'm not usually jumpy when it comes to TV. The Dalek episode was a bit silly, though. The new Daleks don't look very menacing at all; in fact, I think I agree with my father that they look like a cross between wheely bins and tellytubbies. I hope this week's will be good!
