  1. 3. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee Ohmygosh! I think this is the best book I have ever read! Not going to lie! My favorites so far are The Road, Ender's Game, and now this is added to the list:) i love how it was unpredictable and had amazing meaning behind it. Ugh, I have to watch the movie now (for school) and it makes me so mad! I have how the characters should look in my head and now they are making me change my views! haha! 5 out of 5!
  2. Well, yues actually now that I think about it, I think that I agree with you bookjumper more, because I am scared about people coming and getting me (haha!) more than, say a monster. You know, stuff like that. What exactly is the Claiborne story? Well actually I think i will take Frankie's advice and move over to the King thread, we're very off topic:)
  3. Aww that is a disappointment about the Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon! but i will definately try Dolores Claiborne and Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption! I have never seen those movies, but I don't watch movies that much. Thanks!
  4. I have a very bad habit of just buying a book because of it's nice appearance. I especially love paperback books, which is just silly because sometimes i come home with terrible books! But mostly i read books because of recommendations or nominations/prizes.
  5. Some had recommended The Stand by Steven King, but I realllyyy don't like anything scary:) do you think it would be fine? I know Steven King is a horror writer, but still.. Also have you read The Girl who Loved Tom Gordon by him? I heard these also weren't that bad.. I have always wanted to read something of Steven King's but i wasn't sure if i could manage it??
  6. Just finished watching Madagascar for school to compare to Lord of the Flies.. surprisingly there are very alike but i love that movie! I laugh and laugh and laugh!!! Great movie:)
  7. Exactly, never read them, watched the show, what? two times now i believe. It was alright, it's kind of addicting and annoying at the same time! So many characters, so many intertwined relationships. Do people not know how teenage lifes are anymore? Hahah, drama, drama, drama!
  8. I personally liked the Stephanie Meyer saga better.. i couldn't even get past the first Harry Potter book! When i was younger, i had gone to my friend's house and watched a part of one of the H.P. movies and had nightmares for a whole week!!! so, finally after all the praise i had head about them, i picked up the first one. It was alright, but i didn't feel like wasting my precious reading time on the other huge novels in the series, so i quit them! I'm not a huge fan of sci-fi, so that might be a reason i didn't like them. I loved the twilight saga, of course, i mean i'm a teenage girl and it is an adventurous love story, but like other people have said, it does get kind of annoying who Bella loves Edward sooo much, how he is so perfect and blah. But Edward is sweet! It annoyed me when the movie came out though.. Edward was supposed to be beautiful:p I hate how movies put different pictures into your head.
  9. Very sad book, i enjoyed it though. It gives you an insight as to what was going on during those times..
  10. definately ecplise! hmmm, what else? i believe i am rather looking forward to seeing alvin and the chipmunks squeakqual along with toy story two! i hate it how at one time in a month (or more) there are periods where it looks like there is so many great movies that you want to see, but then at all other times there are no movies out! come on people.. spread it out! ah! and i just saw avatar today and it was spectacular!
  11. hey! i'm watching It's a Wonderful Life!!! and it's january:) oh well.. it never get's old. i'm at the part where they all jumped into the pool after the main couple fell in
  12. thanks again kylie! chesilbeach! thanks you! you understand my pain:D
  13. Thanks frankie! You too. Ugh, Lord of the Flies, I expected it to be alright though! I guess because it's somewhat a classic.. but it seemed ridiculous to me:D
  14. 2. All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy Yes! I enjoyed this book very much:) I like the hint of romance and the adventure. It got a bit gory (i hate scary things!) when he was burning out his bullet wound. I love horses, and i'm in spanish so, wohoo! 4 out of 5
  15. Lord of the Flies by William Golding Ok, we had to read this for school. Even Steven King said he loved this book (it was his choice of book that changed his life?) but i guess i just didn't understand it? Was there an undercover meaning or something? It was sooo hard to get through this book for me! 2 out of 5
