Greetings book club, as a newly registered member I am wondering if anyone happens to know a good book which introduces one to the study of symbolism within academia or simply "a good book" about it . The symbolism I am mainly interested in learning encompasses the "cultural" primarily, such as in the arts (religious symbolism, Surrealism (Dali, Max Ernst etc.), and within literature.
I hope I'm not being too vague as to what book I hope to encounter so if more details are needed I'll include or modify information.
Help would be greatly appreciated
