Hello -
I'm trying to track down a book which I've owned previously, and now, for no special reason, want to remember the title/author.
It's a thriller about a group of conservative British clubman types who assassinate people they consider are doing harm to the country - a Scargill-like union leader, a left-wing TV personality, I think, maybe an MP, possibly even a bishop? It all falls apart in the end of course, as the leaders go too far, etc, etc.
Published late 60s or early 70s, I think, and I recall the Pan paperback having a picture of a man in a suit and bowler hat, but with a Union Jack where the face should be (all this is from my very fallible memory!)
Anyone who can come up with title and/or author will have my gratitude!
Cheers
Nick Allen
