  1. Omg, the House of Night books are amazing! I borrow the sixth off my friend on Moday, gave it her back the next day! I love those books... x
  2. I think I may have them as well... Do they start with the Priestess in White? x
  3. I know. That's cool, you know. Some people will always hate school. *sigh*.

Thanks. It'll sink in one day!

  4. All these books sound great, and I'll definitely check them out! I think my mum may have some Robin Hobb books stashed somewhere, you know. And she doesn't like fantasy... CW, you're welcome x
  5. Yeah, sorry about that!

That's what every adult says :S

However, they forget you hate it while you're there!

  6. Oh, I've read Shanara, they're really good. I've read the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings too - CLASSICS! I'll look up the others. I have two Discworld novels. Thanks, Vanwa! x
  7. Thank you! He's adamant, my dad. And annoying. I still love the book though x
  8. Tell me about. I did break down and get the hardback! I usually do x
  9. Yes, most of them are fantasy books, Andrea. Some are just set in different times, like the Hungry Cities, which I can't praise enough. Chrissy, you're right! maybe I'll try and write 'Naphilia's Tomes' after I've finished the book I'm doing now. Should start in, what, 50 years times? :S Septimus Heap, you say? I'll look it up - sounds interesting! CW (my sister loves your name!), you'll really like Artemis Fowl. They're really clever. x
  10. Hi! I have been told to come here to make lists of books I love and get suggestions and what not. So... Books I absolutely love include: 1) The Banned and Banished Series by James Clemens (5) 2) The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness by Michelle Paver (6) 3) The Hungry City Chonicles by Phillip Reeves (4) 4) The Larklight Trilogy, also by Phillip Reeve (3) 5) The Chronicles of Pern by Anne McAffrey (haven't read them all - there's so many!) 6) The Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer (6 so far) 7) His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman (3) 8) The Black Magician Trilogy by Trudy Canavan (3) 9) The Airborne Series by Kenneth Oppel (3) ... and others too!! I am waiting to get the third Airborne book, Starclimber - I have been waiting since APRIL!! Anyone got any ideas for some 'to-read' books? Thanks, all. Naphilia x
  11. Hello, Sue. Welcome to our lair... Don't worry, there's nothing but love for books around here! This is soooooooooooo cool. I only joined a while ago and I lurve it! x
  12. And :5birthday:because I seem to have missed it!!

  13. That's the one! Thanks.

No worries about the time, I get so little chance to go on the commputer for leisure these days, it's so annoying. So much coursework to do that it's unbelievable!! My teachers are trying deliberately to drown me in mock test papers! AAARGH!

Don't worry if you don't like the sound of the 'Hungry Cities Chronicles'. I just get a little over-enthusiastic sometimes!

These things would be expensive, wouldn't they? I don't make any money (Boo! Hiss!) so I'm restricted on my book-buying activities! :irked:

  14. The Hungry City Chronicles are amazing! I've never loved any books more. My copy of Mortal Engines is falling apart I've read it so many times! He's doing a prequel series too, starting with Fever Crumb, which is very good.
  15. That's great!

I admit I don't usually read by author, more by series. Trudi Canavan is amazing though - I'm searching for the third 'Priestess in White' book that I can't remember off the top of my head :P

And OMG you have a signed copy of Northern Lights!!???

    That's just too cool...

The Hungry City Chronicles are books that you HAVE to read. They are almost THE most amazing books ever and that's not just an over-excited 15-year-old talking! The amount of imagination that's gone into them is absolutely brilliant. Believe, you'll want to read those, if none of the others!

    I'll shut up now :D

  16. I love these books so much! My two best friends had to (almost literally) drag me out a book shop in some town when we were on a school trip because they'd got the sixth one and it hadn't got here yet! I was well annoyed. Anyone think the ending to the sixth one left so many things open? I can't believe they're over *sniff*
  17. Wooh, found out how to work this finally.

In answer to your post, you sound totally awesome and bouncing off eachother would be cool. I'm not great with technology so I apologise profusely!

  18. I figured that because I'm not too great at finding threads on books I like, I'll start my own. Books I absolutely love include: 1) The Banned and Banished Series by James Clemens (5) 2) The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness by Michelle Paver (6) 3) The Hungry City Chonicles by Phillip Reeves (4) 4) The Larklight Trilogy, also by Phillip Reeve (3) 5) The Chronicles of Pern by Anne McAffrey (haven't read them all!) 6) The Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer (6 so far) 7) His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman (3) 8) The Black Magician Trilogy by Trudy Canavan (3) ... and others too!! It would be great to discuss these books with anyone who loves them as much as I do! Please talk to me. I get lonely... I don't bite. Not anymore, anyway! Naphilia x
  19. I haven't read this book but I've just read Tuesdays with Morrie by the same author and I cried from start to finish - do you think I should read this one too?
  20. I lent a friend a book last September and I still haven't got it back! It was 'Wicked!' as well! I also lent someone else the Amber Spyglass two years ago and they dropped it in the bath! They bought me a new copy though. I borrow books all the time, because I figure it doesn't matter what state the book's in as long as the story's good. And you can actually read it, of course!
  21. My dad confused me when I read this book. He said that the second story Pi tells is the right one and the whole thing's one big metaphor!
  22. I always read books in one sitting. But I read really, really fast so they only take me up to five hours at the most!
  23. Hey, Vanwa. I can't find the visitor message-y thing!! I'm so incompotent. As for the speed-reading thing, thank the earth someone else has it as well! It'd be great to be friends! Naphilia x
  24. Oh, thank you! I didn't see it x
