  1. Passing around 'hellos' to those on my friends list...how are you?

  2. Happy Birthday NovaLee!:)

  3. Thanks Charm. Sorry I'm a bit late, but Happy 2010!:)

  4. Hey Blithe! Just thought I'd pop in and wish you a Happy New Year! Hope you're well

  5. The Agony and the Ecstasy by Irving Stone. A friend of mine gave it to me along with a boxful of used books about 15 years ago. I never got beyond the first page.
  6. Wow. I've only read one: 54 Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation by Lynne Truss.
  7. Loved that movie too. All the performances were great! I reread Animal farm last year and really enjoyed it too. Great book.
  8. The only classical literature I've read is The Odyssey, but I have enjoyed reading the philosophical works of Seneca, Epictetus, Marcus Aurelius and Epicurus - I find their words quite soothing.
  9. Read 30 pages of My Life in France by Julia Child - loving it so far.
  10. My favorite short novels: Fahrenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury Animal Farm - George Orwell The Stranger - Albert Camus
  11. Read a bit of Empire Falls this afternoon. Started Julie and Julia this week - the reviews aren't great but I'm giving it a go anyway. Also ordered My Life in France by Julia Child - should be in soon.
  12. Read a teensy bit of Empire Falls last night - don't have much time to read this week!
  13. I don't like reading online much - I've read a few books on Gutenberg and other sites but only if I absolutely cannot get my hands on the book! I know these new contraptions (Kindle, Sony Reader etc) are supposed to be easier on the eyes than reading on a computer monitor, but I doubt I'll be buying one soon - I just love having a real book in my hands and on my shelf!
