  1. Well that was a quick read... Have finished The selection stories The prince and The guard by Kiera Cass already didn't take long at all - didn't help that there was 100 or so pages of a sneak peek of The Heir (which I've already read) in there too. No idea what to read next now.

  2. I finished reading The marks of Cain by Tom Knox last night. There were some stomach churning moments but was quite a good read. Makes me want to look into the subject matter more which is always the sign of a good book. I will be looking into the other books written by this author in the future. Moving onto something more light and frothy with The selection stories The prince and The guard by Kiera Cass

  3. Finished reading The sin eater's daughter by Melinda Salisbury tonight - really enjoyed it BUT didn't like where it ended I only hope there is another book coming otherwise I'll be wondering forever about what happened to the characters. Not sure what to move onto next..

  4. Finished The Heir by Kiera Cass today....got to the last 100 pages and realized that it wouldn't be all tied up in a neat little package. With a sinking heart I checked out the author's website and there is was, fifth book out in 2016! I wished I knew that before starting I hate leaving a story half told. Good read though. :)

  5. I haven't got that Terry Pratchett book, I'm glad you liked it :). I have the Kiera Cass books (the ones out so far), but I haven't read them yet.

It's a book of his short stories from when he was younger good quick read. I've read the 3 selection books so far - they too have been quick reads good for something different. I've been looking into getting the novellas too just can't justify the price at the moment.

  6. Ooh, interesting. I haven't heard of this one before. Is it a new book or one of his older ones that I've somehow missed?

I'm about a quarter of the way through The Curse of the House of Foskett. I've been reading at a snail's pace lately.

It came out in 2009 -  it's taken me this long to get to it.

  7. I read Magyk, Flyte and Physik but didn't (or haven't) got any further. Out of those I thought the first one was best so the others .. though good .. were slightly disappointing. Would you recommend any of the subsequent books?

Finally finished Eminent Victorians and Hippy Dinners and have gone on to read the second of the Mortdecai novels .. After You With the Pistol. It's just what I need at the moment .. it's quite short, it's funny and I'm not having to work too hard  :blush2:

No I probably wouldn't. I enjoyed the first and the second to some extent which is why I have the series, but after the second book they're just not that memorable. I still have 2 more books to go and I know I'll put off reading them probably for years...or until I get sick of looking at them mocking me on the shelf. That's just my opinion though.

  8. I'm not winning with Septimus Heap book 5 Syren by Angie Sage, I can't really remember what happened in the last four books which is making it hard. I did however treat myself to some new books after a crappy day, so I'm now the proud owner of Dorothy must die and the sequel The wicked will rise by Danielle Paige and Ruby red by Kerstin Gier.
