  1. Hi , I'm a final year publishing student at Edinburgh Napier University and I'm currently investigating the effects of online bookselling on publishers. As part of my research, I'm doing a short survey about how consumers use online bookstores such as Amazon. I would be very grateful if you could complete my survey, it only takes a few minutes and it would help my research immensely. 2. Heart of Darkness - Joseph Conrad The Gambler - Dostoevsky All Quiet on Western Front - Erich Maria Remarque
  3. I just use the jiffybags that they sell in the Post Office, they're cheap enough and safe enough to make sure the book doesn't get bashed too much.
  4. Personally, I sell on Play.com as they take less in commission than Amazon and it still has the visibility to make sure that the book isn't sitting on my shelf forever.
  5. As much as I can appreciate Nabakov's writing style (and this is undoubtedly a fantastically written novel) I just feel uncomfortable reading it because of the book's content. Maybe that is a testament to how well it is written but I can't seem to bring myself to enjoy the novel.
  6. I can only read one book at a time, my mind isn't capable of dealing with more than one since I'm a guy and therefore can't multitask lol.
  7. I've had this on my shelf since February, you've definately given me the impetus to read it now.
  8. A real loss, I still remember the first time I read Empire of the Sun.
  9. I don't mind reading well written fan fiction but the problem is finding it amongst a lot of the poorer fan fiction that is available.
  10. I don't think I've ever read a whole book in one sitting as I like to pour over every single word so I read relatively slowly.
  11. The technology is very interesting but personally I prefer the tactile feeling of a printed book. The cost of the e-reader will also have to drop for them to begin to catch on in my opinion.
