Hey Natty,
Another epic which is written in a language we can understand is Tad Williams "Otherland" (4 volumes). I'm assuming that you're interested in a Horror / Supernatural / Fantasy / Sci-Fi book based on your post here. Well, this is kind of a combination of Fantasy and Sci-Fi.

The very first horror books I ever read were those from the Goosebumps series ( I can't remember their author) when I was... 13 or 14 perhaps. They scared the heck out of me.
:eek2: My son is reading these now (9 year old). He reads a page and then hides under the blanket. He comes to the living room saying he's too scared to go to sleep and I tell him to get a book, and that will calm him down. Then I see what book he takes. LoL.

I'd list a few Israeli Bands here, but that wouldn't be fair
However, Our lady peace is not completely unknown, should, by all rights be a heck of a lot bigger worldwide. I'm talking about Coldplay size (and in my humble opinion - much better than Coldplay).
I really liked a Band called Whale, they were swedish and they had one hit more or less. I baought that Album (We care) and I found it great. Check them out.

Unfortunately in Italy Seinfield is not so popular. Once in the USA I saw him in a live show and he was great.
I saw him too, in Toronto and I was laughing so hard, I had tears running down my face. This is the time to appologize to all the viewers around me, who had to go through my fits :-) LoL

Man, I have no energy to dig out and name specific episodes, so with that in mind:
Homicide: Life on the streets - Just about ANY episode of this best TV show of all times
OZ had some REALLY good ones too.
The X Files early seasons were packed with HoF worthy episodes
and how could I forget Fawlty Towers? a true masterpiece
and finally Seinfeld... Now I can go on and on about that one :-)

To me it is a waste of time... The problem is that TV is so full of them, I hardly watch TV anymore... They use up all the time slots that could otherwise be filled with a lot more attractive shows.

A great crossover I read is the Dirk Gently series (Douglas Adams). For those of you who haven't heard of it, I highly recommend it :-) without spoiling it, I'll say that It's all about this "holistic detective" who gets involved with the "abnormal". Fantastic.

Interesting idea. Might be a source for my to read list.
Here are mine:
1. The man in the maze/Robert Silverberg - This is just so fantasically fiction that you have to think (worry?) about it realistically.
2. 1984/George Orwell - Anyone from anywhere should read this before they reach adulthood with all it's duties.
3. Ender's game/Orson Scott Card - I won't say much, not to spoil things.
4. The hitchhiker's guide to the galexy series/Douglas Adams - Cause after all, life is way to serious to be taken seriously...
5. A thousand splendid suns- Knaled Hosseini - I think that this is one of the most important books that were written in years, and for so many reasons, not the least is the state of women around the globe.

This is a book i tried reading at collage and after the first few pages just thought what the hell have i just read? .....
However, took the book to portugal with me and couldn't put it down.
Ha, I might as well have written this :-) I was instructed to read this one in school (and in Hebrew to boot) and as much as I tried, couldn't get past page 5... I couldn't stand this book.
YEARS later, my wife bought it for herself and suffered from the same effect...
So naturally I had to try this again. This time in English.
Catcher in the rye is one of my favorite books ever since :-)
I can't really explain this. I don't know if I should, but knowing so many people just hate it, I have to assume that this is one of those very unique creations that divide us to black and white pros and cons, with no gray in between. I have never met anyone who said that this book was "ok" or "Eh, nothing much to talk about". It always came as "Great!" or "Horrible!".

Let me see, did you have to marry her at least twice because you had a Jewish ceremony, then one of her church maybe? And then hmm one at the justice of the peace in another country?
I admit I have not read the authors you love , but I am willing!
More or less, yes. Once in the city hall of Nicosia, Cyprus, Once in Israel in a nice little venue with family and friends and once with a Rabi at the pool where we live.
I highly recommend reading these authors books ;-)

Welcome to the forum Gil, I sure you have fun here. Was that not hard to organise 3 weddings?The first one was actually a package that you can get via a travel agency. A boat trip two ways, transportation and accommodation, the marriage in city hall, including the witnesses!
The second was arranged by my parents who were so happy that someone would take me LoL.
The third was the real project. I took care of it A to Z, including the music, the arrangements, the food, invitations and the whole deal. That was definitely the hardest, but honestly the most rewarding. It was a nice, small and intimate event which (I have to brag here...) actually inspired a few more couples here
Now I'll run off to discuss some books instead of myself LoL. This could make me vain

My first fantasy book was The fellowship of the ring (LOTR)/J.R.R.Tolkien
The first horror book I read must have been It/Stephen King

I generally enjoyed all four, but the one I found most interesting, and probably closer to what I normally read is Deception Point. That is why I gave my vote to this one.

Since you asked so nicely :-) here's the story of my three weddings and zero divorces.
I met the woman who is now my wife in Israel. She comes from South Africa and was working here where I live. I am a Jewish Israeli by birth and my wife Christian. Both of us are not religious.
After being together for about 5 years, we decided to make it "official" and get married. In Israel you can either get married with a Rabi, via what is the "regular channels". However, no Rabi will marry a Jew with a Christian... So we opted for a civil wedding in Cyprus (which is right next door). Hence wedding #1.
We were alone in Cyprus, and the family wanted to be with us on our big day, so we did a ceremonial wedding in Israel with lots of guests etc. Wedding #2.
My wife, who was drawn to Israel even before we met, and somehow found herself returning here again and again, has took it upon herself to convert to Judaism. She went through the process in Jerusalem, and after completing it with very high praises from all, we got married for the third (and hopefully last) time, with a Rabi, the family and friends.
I am working on keeping the score 3-0 to marriage over divorce ;-)
