    Hey Mac!!

It's been ages! How are you? Hopefully good :-D

Well.....a LOT has happened with me recently. I broke up with my BF in July and moved in with my Sister (which was a nightmare!!) and then moved back in with my Mam. So I've not been around for a bit. On a more positive note, I managed to get a place on my dream MA course, so I'll be ...

  2. Hello Mrs!!

    It's official! I hate this dongle!! :-(

How are things with you? Hopefully good!

I'm back to uni soon (got a place on the MA and they're funding it :-D) so I will actually have access to real life proper computers!! Yey! I feel the next email may be quite lengthy.....you might need to clear your diary f...

  3. My mojo is all over the place at the minute. I tried to start American Psycho again but it just isn't happening. So now I'm reading an academic book called Disadvantaged by Where You Live?, which is about how the notion of community and neighbourhood has been used in urban planning policy in the UK. My mojo seems happy to absorb the words so I'm just running with it. Zzzzzzzzz
  4. Stephanie!!

    How's you mrs?

My new dongle doesn't like hotmail :( and won't let me open any emails which is pretty rubbish really. I'm trying to discover new ways to get into them. I've tried the whole control and click method but nowt happens. Grrrrr!

Anyhoo, I hope things are ok with you. I'm sorry for being so neglectful...

  5. Ooooh I've fancied Wicked for ages! Think I'll bump it up the to buy list. Well I've had quite a bit going on at home recently so haven't had much time for reading unfortunately. I'm still about a chapter into American Psycho so I plan to pick it back up and continue tonight. Hope everyone's grand
  6. Awww that's so canny Kell This is probably my favourite book of all time Whitegold. I'm glad you enjoyed it I'm not sure what my favourite short story is though....probably Mr Whittakers. It had the surprise factor! I recommended it to a friend recently and he recommended American Psycho to me (which is his favourite book) so that's what I'm reading now. He's enjoying Haunted
  7. I've finished The Laughing Corpse by Laurell. K. Hamilton and I've started to read Club Dead by Charlaine Harris to refresh my memory for Season 3 of True Blood
  8. Me too.....I hope they do. I suppose now that so here's hoping eh I'd also love a bit more action!
  9. Well......as some of you might know, I'm taking in a lodger when my BF moves away to help with the bills and unfortunately the only bookcase in the house was in the spare room and too big to put anywhere else. I bought a slim set of shelves from Ikea to put in my bedroom but they're not really big so I was set to pack up most of my books and send them off to my Mam's house. Needless to say, I wasn't a happy camper! Anyway, I came home from work one day to find that my BF had dismantled the dining table and bought three new sets of shelves from ikea that make a nice corner mini-library area. How lovely is that! So now..... The first set of shelves in the living room holds my YA fiction, vampire fiction, sleezy fiction (like chuck palahniuk, Irvine Welsh, etc), big books like Encyclopedias and uni related text books. The second set holds my classics, historical fiction, crime and some non-fiction (mainly about the Tudors) The third set holds a mixture of fiction, non-fiction, dvds and photos. In the bedroom I've got a random mix of books that don't have any order and the set in the spare room are empty but are soon to be filled by Phil (new lodger) who loves to read too I've only ever had one set of shelves and a sort of display cabinet shelf thingymebob so I keep changing it around and reorganising. It's like Christmas!
  10. Me too. I hope they start to introduce new characters too Chesilbeach. I really liked and would like to read more of that but I wasn't to keen on the ending. I'm looking forward to finding out what will happen with and think that this book was maybe a filler in between all the action of the last book and (hopefully) all the . Does anyone have any theories about possible storylines? Here's to another year of waiting!
  11. My Grandad never used to read a lot himself, but he made sure that me and my Sister were quick to learn basic skills like learning how to tell the time, learning the alphabet, learning to write our names, drawing and things like that, so he was the one who would sit with us while we read. I think it used to make him proud
  12. I've started The Laughing Corpse by Laurell K Hamilton. It's not a page turner just yet but it has potential
  13. Has anyone read Dead in the Family yet? If so, any thoughts about the latest installment? Where do you see the overall story heading?
  14. This has totally tickled me! You sound dangerous! My name would be Buttons Mayfair. It's sooooo much better than Nicola Johnson that I'm thinking of changing it legally How much fun would you have with a name like that! Sounds like a 1950s stripper.....I'm imagining feathered fans for some reason
  15. I agree. Books 1-4 weren't too great but I needed to know what happened so I bought books 5-6 and they were great. If you're a fan of Damon you need to read these books! I pre-ordered book 7 but they changed the release date from 1st July 2010 to 3rd March 2011.

    World Cup 2010

Thus far, I have managed to avoid the world cup completely which is probably really unpatriotic of me. However, I have heard that it's been pretty boring too. My BF isn't a happy bunny!
  17. Wow! That's a bargain! I think I paid about
  18. I've developed a bit of a habit of having a mocha everytime I venture into town which is almost every day.....eeeeek! I specifically like Pret a Manger at the top of Northumberland Street in Newcastle. I don't know what makes that shop's Mocha different from every other Pret in town but they are. As a tipple, I'm a fan of vodka and cherry coke or cherry beer but I love cocktails, so my nights out tend to be few, but messy
  19. Me too! I know it's a series tie-in, but I'm liking the cover even if it isn't totally accurate. I also love Let the Right One In and hope you're enjoying it Frankie I'm almost finished Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K Hamilton and have enjoyed it so far.
  20. I finished Fallen by Lauren Kate and Merrick by Anne Rice over the weekend. I'm now about halfway through Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl and so far so good
  21. I can't wait either!! Alexander Skarsgard just keeps getting hotter!
  22. I loved it too! Bless poor Rachel's teddy bear dress! I missed Sue though....I need my weekly fix of her cutting one-liners!
