Absolutely, twice, both times sitting on a plane on the way to Florida. I read the last two Harry Potters that way. (And wow does it take the boredom out of that endless flight!)

If you are looking to read a good tale about Elizabeth 1 and Robert Dudley (Earl of Leicester) then this is a good read, in particular because it takes the unusual step of focusing more in depth about Amy Robsart Dudley, and her treatment by him and of her feelings of despair at his 'love affair' with the Queen, she comes across as a very tragic figure. I would say this is the second best Elizabeth/Dudley novel I have read and would highly recommend it.

Her new one is Echo In The Bone (published USA Sept 2009) and picks up where A Breath of Snow and Ashes left off. I have them all/have read them all - I actually wonder when DG intends to stop writing this series, I think the earlier ones are the best but the last one actually began to irritate me. I will read the next one out of curiosity but think she has overdone it with them. Hate the rest of her books.
