  1. Never heard of him...is he the one that does the cookery shows on channel 4? Only kidding! Personally, I'm not a great fan of the Merchant of Venice or even Romeo and Juliet - at least in respect to the other Shakespeare works I've read. Midsummer Night is definitely my favourite. Does Shakespeare still have his relevance today though?
  2. Thanks for the heads up, I'll have a look around for them!
  3. I don't cry reading books because, well, I'm a book. But I did get very sad with Of Mice And Men Pet Sematery at the end of them both...
  4. As a history graduate I'm intrigued to historical fiction if a little sceptical! On another book site someone recommended Jean Plaidy and Naomi Hutchinson - what's the verdict from you experts? Are they genuinely worth reading or am I going to get annoyed at historical inaccuracies (I'm not that much of a history geek though!).
  5. I don't think it's got anything to do with time - a classic is simply a book that everyone including the milkman recommend to you, and when you finally read it, despite any inhibitions about it before, you love it! Catch 22, Dracula, and Frankenstein are just three of such books I've read in recent months that fit the bill...
