Both the radio I and the TV series are wonderful. Avoid the film, though. I have the first two radio shows on my computer, and I love re-listening to it - especially when I'm going to bed. It's quite soporific.

    Enjoy your evening.

  4. Hi Jo. Hope you're well. RE: Perfume, the book adapted well to film, partly because the casting is excellent. It's beautifully shot and the images are quite visceral. It still evokes strong sensory imagery. You'll like it, or I'll eat my hat (don't worry, I have several as a back up).

Good morning, me old mucker. How goes it, down in Cornwall? I am preparing to leave my place of work (it's alarming how many people this has upset) and begin a new job in an inclusion unit in a 'rough' secondary school. I can't wait.

What's new with you? How're the house shenanigans progressing?

  6. Hi there. Just dropping in to say 'Hi there', so I have achieved my objective! I hope you are very well.

  7. Oooh, yeah! I bought Little Girls Lost, right, and I've nearly finished it. This guy is so good at keeping you hooked with such great characters, isn't he! Magic stuff. Hope you're pucka! x

  8. Crikey. I've just read the chapter where the GRIMMEST thing happens...*shudder*

Excellent book, mind. Loving it (although what that says about my soul is another thing to discuss later...) xx

  9. Hello there, Bethany. Have you ever heard of a writer called Mil Millington? Or David Nicholls? These are two chaps whom you may well enjoy. i hope you are well and having fun!

I'm very well, many thanks. You've named your camera 'Henry'. I like this information. I had a guitar which I named Barry, but unfortunately it broke it's neck during an ill-advised bid for freedom when I was moving house several years ago. I still mourn it's loss.

    I'm glad you're okay. :D

Evening, fella. Just popping in to see how you feel your exams have gone. I hope you're okay with how you've done. What's the plan for next year? Any ideas? I could do with a few myself!

I think I'm going to be moving jobs in September and starting work in a secondary school, working with the challenging students. Should be fun.

So. Hope all's well, chap, and you're enjoying a well earned break.

    Cheers! Mac.

  12. Alright, mate? How're things?

  13. Hey Kelly. Thank you for the 'McRecommend'! It really does sound right up my street. I'll go and buy this at the weekend.

How're things with you in the flatlands?

  14. The Crimson Petal And The White is awesome! Michel Faber is a legend. All his books are brilliant. Nice one, Dan. Enjoy!

Morning Paula. You were up really late/early last night. Everything okay? I used to really struggle sleeping. It's awful. Used to drive me bats. Hope you're okay, mate.

  16. Hellooooo! I'm dropping in to say hi and see how you are, for it has been such a long time since we chatted. How are things in your lovely life, my friend? What have you been up to? I'm sure that you've been making many people's lives joyful.

    Much love.

  17. Hi Michelle. I've not popped by for a while, so thought I would. Here I am. Hello. How's tings in da hood (as they say)? Hope you've had a good weekend. :)

  18. Busy as a thing that's really busy, as usual, yes. I've applied for a new job, which would pay me the same salary, but with 5 hours less a week and with the school holidays to enjoy. This would be very good. It would give me more time to myself, which I don't get a lot of, currently.

I hope you're enjoying your pool-time and getting to read plenty of great books.

  19. Bumhole! I missed your birthday! Poo and wee!

Well, here's a belated many happy returns, friend of mine. I hope you had a magic time and that you're experiencing joy and other good things. Like food. And other stuff.

How're you doing? Probably excellent and great. I hope so.

    Pip pip.

  20. Ooh, and there're so many more where those come from. What a wonderful time you have ahead of you, old boy!

  21. Ahoy there, Kate. Just a quickie to say hello and see how your summer's going. I hope all is well with you. I got the job and I'm starting in September, so I'm looking forward to the new challenge. What's new with you?

Hoping this finds you well and very happy, chum.

  22. Hiya Frankie. Cool avatar, mate. I have every episode of Due South on DVD, because I adored it when it was on tv during the 90's.

Hoping all things are well with you, my friend. It's been a while.

I am coming down to Porthleven later on in the year, so I suggest that you save the entire

Aloha, Paula. Things are reasonable with me, thank you kindly. Quite pleased that we're coming to the end of December (always a tricky month with many weighted dates) and actually looking forward to getting back to work. How are things in Groovesville? x
