  1. Good afternoon, Genevieve, my lovely friend. I always think that the '30's look was a great one. I wish that people would dress more smartly these days. I love well made suits, and ladies looking sophisticated and stylish. I'm sure you'll look amazing taking this path. My dear friend Andrea has quite the '30's style and always looks simply gorgeous.

How's January going? It's always so dark and gloomy, so whenever the sun shines I try and orchestrate event s so that I can get out into it!

    Thinking of you. xx

  2. Good evening, my friend. I've been out in the hills today, walking through a lovely rain, everything is green and lush and fresh...it never fails to make me feel calm and peaceful. I feel more...connected to...life, when I'm out there. It sounds as though you've been quite active, too, Genevieve! I hope your foot's not giving you too much grief.

I hope you're having a lovely, gentle evening, as I have, reading in my favourite chair with a bottle of Peroni to keep me company.

    Cheerio, Genevieve. :friends0:

  3. Good luck with the interview than, Sarah! I'm sure they'll snap you up in a heartbeat (working in a Library! That's my dream job!)

Good man. Good call. Good work!

    Hope you're well, fella.

  5. Good morning to you. How're tricks? I am responding ridiculously late to your last message, but that's purely because I'm rubbish.

I did, in fact, have two weeks off over Christmas, but needed a holiday to get over that! I'm on half term in only three weeks time, so this is good. The lady in my avatar is the very beautiful Zooey Deschanel, an actress on whom I have a harmless little crush. Those eyes!

What're you up to? Fun stuff, one hopes. How's the job going? I imagine that you're well settled now and enjoying all things Western.

    Take care. Happy days.

  6. Good morning, CW. How are you doing? I have returned from Cornwall where the sun shone, the beer flowed and the books...erm...read well(?). I was due to drive back this morning, but something made me decide to come home last night. Upon waking this morning, I discovered the world had turned completely white and silent.

It would have been a total pain to come home today. How lucky am I?

What's happening in Groovetown, Lady? x

  7. Good morning, Frankie. It's been a while since I popped by to say hello to my first friend on here, so here I am, doing just that.

    How are you? How's life?

Hoping you're very well. Have a great Sunday. x

  8. Good morning, Genevieve. How has your week been? Mine has been very full and I'm just about to toddle off to work again. The sun is shining here, the sky is very blue with an occasional cloud and the birds are singing their hearts out. It's quite lovely.

I've got a busy weekend with two Twenty-First birthday parties to attend and a wedding. If I'm honest, I'm feeling a little freaked out at how much I've got to cram in to the weekend, and wish I could have some 'Me'-time, but one can't have everything one wants, eh? I have Tuesday off and my plan is to concentrate on recording some new songs, so that'll focus me in a very good way. It's quite cathartic, getting music out of you and onto something solid.

What is happening with you? How are you doing? :friends0:

  9. Good morning, Genevieve. It has been a while since I last dropped you a line - I've been on the internet less, very busy in the evenings, hiding under a blanket, that sort of thing - so I thought that now would be an opportune time to do so. How are you?

Has your Christmas been lovely, quiet and full of lovely people? I hope so, my friend. Mine has been a little hectic, but it is easing off a little for the next 5 days, which makes me glad. I have had the opportunity to cook for my friends, which is something I always enjoy - playing host and not poisoning anyone in the process! - and it's been nice seeing my family.

What's happening in your world, my lovely friend? Hoping you are very well. X

Good morning, ii. Just wanted to say 'ayup', as I have not graced the site for some time now. I enjoyed your post on the book discussion to be held in a fortnight. It made me chuckle (but, to be quite fair, I am often amused by your writings, it has to be said).

I hope this finds you in the rudest of health and the best of moods. Enjoy your weekend.

  11. Good morning, Lady! 'Tis 10.11am and I am considering making a massive breakfast of greatness. I have my book, my mug of tea and my enormous hangover, so my Sunday only needs said breakfast to be complete.

How are you, my lovely friend? What plans have you for the week ahead?

  12. Mac

Good morning, me old mucker. How goes it, down in Cornwall? I am preparing to leave my place of work (it's alarming how many people this has upset) and begin a new job in an inclusion unit in a 'rough' secondary school. I can't wait.

What's new with you? How're the house shenanigans progressing?

  13. Mac

Good morning, Sarah. Sorry to read that you didn't get the library job. I'm sure something will turn up, though.

I noticed that you're reading The Wind-up Bird Chronicle. I loved this book (it even inspired a song of mine). Murakami is sublime. I'm currently reading A Wild Sheep Chase which is equally brilliant. I love this guy!

You seem to have gone through the mill a little of late. All your friends on here are thinking of you and sending excellent vibes over the water. Take care.x

  14. Mac

Good morning! I am merely popping in to see how things are going with all the college gumph. Have you got your funding yet? Have they sorted out your grades? Do I need to fly over and get all rowdy with these silly people?

I hope you're alright, chum. Keep your chin up, you're a smashing person. :friends0:

  15. Good morning. I appear to have missed your birthday (although I have been away, walking across the country in what turned out to be adverse weather conditions!) so, a belated happy birthday to you!

I have indeed got a cat. He's called Frank and he's extremely aloof! I'll get round to posting some pictures when I've learned how to do so...

    Have a good day. x

  16. Good morning. I hope this doesn't come across as terribly rude, but how does one pronounce your name? Please don't misunderstand - I love Celtic names, and wish to call my first daughter (should I ever be fortunate enough to father one) Niamh. Yours is a name I have never encountered, and I like to be right in my head.

I hope you're really well, me old chum, and that things are going well with you. x

Good morning. I'm tip-top, ta. I'm just on my way out (I'm on the sound desk at a local-ish festival) and I have to be there for around 8. There were some great bands on yesterday - and some dreadful ones! Headlining were a Beatles tribute act, and they were awesome.

Of course, it was all my doing that they sounded so brilliant!

How're things with you? Hope you're alright, Paula. :D

  18. Greetings to you. I'm glad you're well and enjoying B.F.Time! All is well with me, thank you. I've left work early for some quiet-time. The door's locked, the house is tidy and clean and I am alone in peace. Lovely. I've had some frustrating news from the Police Service, mind. They're pulling back on recruitment for a while, so I just have to be patient until they give me a date for the next stage, dammit. Never mind. If there's just one thing I am, it is patient.

Take care, Flower. Have a very, very splendid weekend. :friends0:

Greetings, Ben. How's all things sixth form going? Have you had new starters? How is this new year progressing? How are the studies? How many questions am I likely to ask? Will this be the last question? Or this one? Or this last one?

Ah. There we are, that was it.

When I began Sixth Form we had a whole bunch of newbies start - 5 girls, and all in my form! All five were gorgeous (and exotic, because they came from at least nine miles away!). I had a girlfriend from the age of 15 to 21 - Jo, still one of my closest friends - so never turned on the charm with them, but just because one's on a diet it doesn't mean one can't look at the menu, eh!

I've always thought that it's wonderful to appreciate fine art, as long as we don't take the paintings off the wall.

My, what am I talking about???

*sounds of Mac muttering to himself into his mug of tea.

  20. Mac

Greetings, friend. Thanks for the acknowledgement of the humour in my McRecommends thread. It certainly amused me!

How're you doing? What are you doing? How's life? How many questions am I going to ask? Does this car belong to you, sir?

(Sorry - I'm rehearsing speech patterns for when I become a police officer...)

Anyway. I hope you're very well. Pip pip.

  21. Greetings, on this rather damp Friday (well, it is here in the Peak District, anyway!)

I hope you're in splendid shape and looking forward to a marvellous weekend.

    How's it all going? :friends0:

  22. Ha, yes. I've just found the thread you're talking about. I'm at the bottom of everyone's list! Anyway, yep, my new job, eh? I'll be working in the Inclusion Unit in a secondary school in Nottinghamshire (about 40 minutes away), alongside 'challenging' teenagers. The job'll involve implementing behaviour management strategies, organising the Duke Of Edinburgh Award, music and drama, that sort of thing. I'm really looking forward to it - I was headhunted!!!

How're things out East? Are you still having a magic time?

    Hope you're very well.

  23. Mac

Happy New Year, Nicola! I missed out on being in your neck of the woods this New Years Eve. We were supposed to be driving up with my folks and six other people to join my Uncle in his restaurant, but I was struck down by the most appalling stomach bug I've encountered in a long time (details would be inappropriate). I was in bed for 6pm, believe it or not. Shame, 'cos I love Newcastle at New Year and it sounds like the snow might've been fun!

What did you get up to? How was your Christmas? How are things going in general? How many more questions am I going to ask? Do I realise that that last one was a question, also? And that one?

Hmmm...stop now, Mac. Stop now. :drive1:

  24. Hello CaliLily. I thought I'd leave you your first message.

    Happy days.

  25. Hello Dan. Thought I'd drop by and say 'Yowza!'

So, mission accomplished. Hope you're very well.
