  1. The Stand was the first book i tried. i got a few hundred pages in and then stopped reading it-not because it wasnt good, i was really enjoying it, just think i had other things going on at the time. because i enjoyed what i read so much i got alot of other SK books, but im still yet to read one! I have seen alot of SK movies/mini series and enjoyed most, so keep telling myself i need to read his books because they would be so much better. last night i decided to start on The Stand again, im only 72 pages in but im already hooked and loving it again! will definately be finishing it this time around:lol: Edited because i just realised that The Stand wasnt the first book i tried, it was The Green Mile! When i was on holiday when i was much younger(in my early teens i think) i found this book, only it was 6 books making up the whole story. i think thats how it was released at first? so yes, i started trying to read those back then but couldnt get into them, probably because of my age lol
  2. Is it only on wiki that is says there will be 2 more books? because i cant find anything on the official Stephenie Meyer website and i think thats a little more reliable then wiki. i would love if she did write more and do a Host series, but i seem to remember her saying it would just be a novel, no follow ups. il keep fingers crossed though, would love to read more about the other characters etc As for the book itself, i absolutely loved it. i actually much preferred it to the Twilight series and im a big fan of those too. I finally named this as being my favourite book after years of not being able to choose one. I always loved the Abarat series by Clive Barker, but when i read the Host it became a firm favourite. i keep meaning to read it again, but have been so busy reading new books i havent got around to it. Must get on that!
  3. I voted all the time. im 24 and i have to admit the first section i go to in a book shop is usually the teenage/YA, followed by the fantasy and horror sections:lol: I saw my family on the weekend and my 30 year old brother in law was telling me how he had read the first 2 twilight books and planned to read the next two. got to admit i was surprised, i knew he liked reading and hes a huge fan of the anne rice books but i really didnt think he would read and enjoy the twilight books. just goes to show that books have absolutely no age restrictions:tong:
  4. I done a Me to You one for my sisters birthday last year. i hated the backstiching part with all the fur sticking out though, was so tedious. I just have the back stitching left to do on a Popcorn bears one for my Mom for Mothers day, and guess what? it has the same fur back stitching! in my defence i did buy them all at the same time so didnt realise what a pain it would be lol I do really enjoy cross stitching and have done a fair few over the years but cant do as much as i like because i have problems with my wrist. also hurts my neck sometimes too-anyone use anything when stitching to stop neck ache?
  5. I started off by reading lots and lots of Roald Dahl, and another one here whos fave was the Witches. i remember being read it in class in primary school too and loved it.i really liked Esio Trot too:D i also borrowed a copy of Colin Dann's Just Nuffin from the library and loved it so much. it took me ages to find a copy of it and i still havent re read it lol I then ended up on goosebumps which as i got older turned into point horror books and i couldnt get enough of them. R.L Stine was my fave, probably because of the goosebumps books.
  6. I was recommended this book months ago when buying Eclipse in waterstones. i mentioned how the Twilight books were the first to ever make me cry and she must have thought i liked crying or something:lol:i still havent bought it though, im put off by reading anything sad. would it really be worth a read?
  7. Yes most of her other books do seem to be aimed at younger children, but this was in the teenage section and appears to be the same in all other bookstores etc too. definately aimed at older children(says me, the 24 year old:lol:)
  8. I've been meaning to get and read these for a while now, definately have to after the reviews here! Just wondered if any of you have read The Stuff of Nightmares? i got it a few months back and have yet to try it.

thank you all:mrgreen: i havent read the Black Magician trilogy, rings a bell though so will do a search. i have read The Book Thief though and i really enjoyed it. i think it was just a natural progression for most back then to go from goosebumps to point horror:lol:R.L.Stine was defo my fave point horror writer then, but i doubt i could read anything of his now lol re read the forbidden game series last year actually(was feeling nostalgic and wanted to see if they were as good as i could remember) and i actually quite enjoyed them still.
  10. I have a Sony Reader and i love it:) my mom very very kindly bought me one for my birthday back in september. the same month waterstones were kind enough to send me a 20% voucher for it being my birthday month. i was told i couldnt use it against the reader but decided to try anyway(why not!) and it worked! so i got the reader for
