  1. Happy Birthday Dan, I hope all is well with you & yours.

  2. Yeah I am all good. People are really going to cop it tomorrow though. Its going to be brutal for some of them.
  3. Incredible amount of water. The office in which I work in the CBD is under a metre of water and it is going to get worse tomorrow. Feeling for all the people that have lost their houses to the flood and moreso for those that have lost their lives. Horrific scenes from Toowoomba especially, water is just so powerful.
  4. Cheers Kylie. Myself and my family are ok. Tomorrow should be interesting though as they are expecting it to go up another metre overnight. Unfortunate that it seems a lot of lives are going to be lost.

  5. Hi Dan. I hope you, your family and friends are all OK up there in the floods. My thoughts are with you all. If I can get up there with the SES to help out, I surely will.

  6. Hi Dan and a very belated Happy Birthday. I hope you had a good one.

  7. Thanks everyone for the birthday messages. Much appreciated.

  8. Happy birthday - hope you had a good day. :)

  9. Happy Birthday! Hope you're having a good one ;)

  10. Happy birthday. :)

  11. Hi Dan! I haven't seen you around in a while. I hope you're doing well. :)

  12. Going to see 'The Town' tonight. Looking forward to it.
  13. Cheers, I've read a few of Marukami's other books and really enjoyed them so I'm sure I will love Kafka. Lisa Jewell's books are cool as well. Just good, easy reads.
  14. If you liked 'The House at Riverton' I see no way that you would not enjoy 'The Forgotten Garden'. They are both very good, and quite similar, but if I had to choose I would probably go with the latter as my preferred. Kate is just a great author.
  15. Finally finished 'The House at Riverton' by Kate Morton (titled 'The Shifting Fog' out here). It was enjoyable, perhaps not quite as much as the other Morton novel I have read, but I wish I could have had more time available so I could have read it over a shorter period of time. Still, a very good book. Kate's character development was excellent I thought, as it was in 'The Forgotten Garden'. Its an era I really enjoy reading about and I thought she described it very well. Next up I'm going to read another Haruki Marukami book - 'Kafka on the Shore'.
