  1. Hey Mac, things are alrighty. The post was a quote from Neil Gaiman, I thought it summed up how I felt about a certain person perfectly. Obviously I don't hate love all round. :) haha well you hide your grumpiness well on here, I too am turning into a gargoyle but that's okay, I have better things to do now that require focus.

How are things with you? <^_^>

  2. "Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you o...

or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love."

  3. Thanks Mac, hope you have a relaxing week. :) Take care x

  4. Oo doctor day! Snoozing is much needed :) any particular books/dvds? I'm surviving on about 4-5 hours sleep, probably should try some snoozing myself.

  5. Hey Mac, not too bad, how is yours?

I wasn't well enough for work this morning, have to wait till next Tuesday to see my doctor, tis ridiculous.

  6. ok.....it cut some of my rambling off. I still have a bit left, I don't want it to end tho :(

  7. :D That's great! Do you think you would ever reread?

When I came to the end of perpetual train bit I thought 'oh yeah that's what was meant earlier' and flicked back and reread bits.

I think all this weirdness is spoiling me, normal stories aren't interesting me as much, love it! Like you also said, it mirrors real life but in a fantastical way!

  8. Signed up for the National 3 Peaks Challenge, raising money for the charity 'Mind' - no going back now, just training and fundraising to be done for september - excited! :D

Thank you, I'll need it. I know I have my work cut out- eek, but I love a challenge and I'm a stubborn mule. I want to do it for myself but also to raise money for Mind and in memory of my uncle who loved walking but sadly commited suicide in 2008

  9. Happy birthday! <^~^>

  10. Loving your avatar - very cute! :)

  11. Thank you, Michelle :D

  12. 'Me' time is essential, I hope you revelled in it!

A quote from a book I'm reading now comes to mind - I feel the same way about solitude as some people feel about the blessing of the church. It's the light of grace for me. I never close my door behind me without the awareness that I am carrying out an act of mercy toward myself.--Peter Hoeg (Miss Smilla's Sense of Snow)

Ah anyhoo, hope you are having a good day! I'm feeling better, thank you :)

  13. Thats good to hear. Awh, thats brilliant! Definitely do. We have some wild strawberries growing in our garden this year, appeared from somewhere. Thank you :)

  14. Hi Lauren :)

I'm well apart from having a cold since Tuesday, its slowly shifting. How is everything with you? Enjoying the on/off sunshine? I have been on the hunt for shieldbugs/squashbugs, seen 5/6 species so far of various ages, the sloe and gorse shieldbugs are elusive little bugs so far it seems.

    Hope you are taking care!

  15. Love your current avatar :D I hope you are feeling well!

  16. Haha, awh thanks Mac :) I don't feel very photogenic myself, how are you doing? I'm full of cold atm :( but I had a lovely day saturday wandering around the meadows surrounding Kenilworth Castle looking for insects, love that place. Did you get up to anything in the sunshine?

  17. Mac :D Great to hear from you, how is everything with you, you staying busy? Job that bad? lol

My job front......i'm somewhat, temporarily content in my current job, only because I go in early, do what has to be done (i've also been moved around so the people I work directly with are much more friendly and appreciative of what I do for them) and I'm finished by midday so free to do whatever I please. I'm trying to see the positives in what I have now....it seems to be working

Oolala what radical things are you thinking of? Got me intrigued! Oh that reminds me I would LOVE to read about you coast to coast walk, you have my email still don't you?

SarahVille is not too bad I guess, just living and learning. I'm on an interesting short course, Osteoarchaeology. We have been looking at animal bones lately, moving on to human soon enough - yay for bones!

Hope you are taking care! How is MACclesfield.....?

  18. Heylo Tom :D Thank you :friends0: I'll survive.

I hope you have been taking care of yourself and not stuffing yourself silly with oatmeal :tong:

  19. Sideshow Bob hair lol I was watching that lottery list quiz show the other day and was shouting Sideshow Bob as a simpsons character but did they pick it...no  He does seem to love the camera of late, he must be watching it while i'm out at work. I'm good thanks, Bury bf visiting me on Wednesday :D Hope you are taking care of yourself!

  20. OMG! I am adoring your avatar of Bernard/Dylan! I'll be very happy reading your posts now with him looking back at me... I nearly jumped out my skin when I saw it :D lol Hope you are well!

  21. It does feel like home pretty fast, it is a lovely place! Yeah I've been back a few times to visit, plan on more visits especially in the summer.

Have you been to the orchard tea garden? You probably have, isn't it such a relaxing place, perfect place to sit and read when it's not too busy and tis nice weather :)

  22. Hi Alexandra, I noticed your location is Cambridge, I went to University in Cambridge and graduated last summer and miss the place very much now I have gone back home, I hope you are well! :D

  23. Yeah I agree. Hope you have a great time tonight and the rest of the weekend too. Haha yes there are limits, as much as the Gallagher brothers are somewhat attractive in the right lighting - tweezing hurts like hell if it hasn't been done for a while, makes my eyes water if lots need to be done - Good luck with it! :D

  24. lol A teenager pushing a buggy is worse! I've had the odd grey hair which I think everyone gets - I have a friend who is a full on goth and used to dye his hair black but he naturally has grey patches from a young age and has let it grow naturally now, its looks great! A female lecturer at uni had long grey hair, it does look lovely on some people, much better than the cropped grey curled look most old people seem to do. My mum constantly dyes her hair too, she would be grey all over if she left it haha, it does looks like too much effort tho, esp. for my lazy ways. My dad was ginger so I got red highlights, people used to ask where I got my highlights done, I said my dad did them and their faces were a picture.

  25. They sure are! Trying to get some reading done but younger brother insists on playing his guitar or watching anime loudly. Lily Munster is a great look tho! :D I would dye my hair but don't want to loose natural colour just yet, as soon as I start turning grey, I plan on dying it all colours and if I have kids at the time embarrass them :D
