Finished A Picture of Dorian Gray by Wilde.I enjoyed this book immensely. The writing had an almost dreamlike quality to it.I thought the Characters were very convincing. It is fairly slow paced but picks up after half way through. A very good book I would gladly recommend it.

Paperbacks because they fit in the pockets of my shorts.Back in the day when I used to read in the bath paperbacks were best because my arms used to get tired with hardbacks!(weakling)

48 is my favourite cracking thiller.I also really enjoyed Once which is a fairy story.Ghosts of Sleath is another good story and it features David Ash from Haunted.

There's a couple of the Harry Bosch books by Michael Connelly which involve old, unsolved crimes. The one i'm reading at the moment has him assigned to the 'Open Unsolved' team. The police chief re-named the cold case team in this way 'because there are no cold cases, just cases which aren't solved yet.'
That sounds just the ticket thanks

I hate text speak. I hate it even moreso on msn and other IMs.
Text speak is the curse of the modern age.I think my punctuation is pretty poor and I have to make an effort to get it right,my spelling on the other hand is at the very least reasonable.Overall I dont think reading a lot improves my written english, posting on here may help though!

I've never read any of Asterix, but I did get given three gorgeously bound copies of the Nicholas children's books which are also written by Rene Goscinny (and Jean-Jacques Sempe). They're wonderful books filled with short stories about the schoolboy Nicholas, aimed at probably 6-10 year old boys, and would be great for reading to children.
I might check these out,my boys may well like them

Asterix the Legionary, started and finished this today as comics go the Asterix stories are superb.I reckon I first read this in the seventies and I loved it,the thing is reading it again as an alleged adult you appreciate the subtle humour which is aimed at adults.I read this because I've been short of reading time the last couple of days,I'm glad I did

I have just typed out my list of every single book I have that I haven't yet read. 45 of them!!!! I didn't think there were that many (holds head in hand). That means I can't buy any more books for ages!!!!
I have over 100 to be read but I'll keep buying because they dont go off! and also books seem to go out of print a lot quicker these so I feel I've got to strike while the irons hot(if I can afford it that is) oh and I love second hand book shops/sites,I'm just doomed to buy books I guess.

What grade did you get for your fake presentation!? I've never seen the film, after reading the book I dont think I'll bother

Oh, interesting! I have vague plans towards A Clockwork Orange. What was it that was so good?
I just found it so exciting.I've never read a book quite like it.I was little bit worried about the slang used throughout called "Nadsat" but it actually adds something to the book,if you do find nadsat off putting there are glossaries available on the internet. The violence in book is shocking but it essential to the telling of the story.

I finished a Clockwork Orange today. One of the best books I have ever read

What no westerns! I voted Horror as this was the genre that rreally got me into reading, but I like a bit of everything now

If you do War and Peace, please let me know if it's worth the read. I recall reading 240+ pages many years ago and quitting. I know I will read it on a good recommendation.
No problems,I've meaning to get hold of it for a few years now but I've always put it off but I'm going to go for it this year

I've read Jaws about 3 times.I've re bought quite a few books that I going to read again. To me if you buy a DVD chances are you'll watch it more than once.If you keep your books like I do, they are all potential rereads(even the rubbish ones)
