I was born in Zimbabwe and moved to England when I was 5 years old. My dad was England and his family had moved to Zimbabwe when he was a young boy. Most of the rest of my family still live in Zimbabwe
Hmm, I had just got to the lead up of the Nertherfield Ball, perhaps I should get it out of the library again and give it another go from where I left off!
Thanks for the advice Janet
It wasn't the style or the writing I struggled with, rather the fact that it didn't really grip me or make me feel like I wanted to keep reading the story. I persevered through about the first 100 odd pages but eventually I just got bored of reading it. Then I had to take it back to the library as it had been reserved.
I feel bad that I haven't finished it though. I might give it another go soon.
Have you read it? What were your thoughts?
I've recently joined the library as its very near to where I work, in fact thats what got me back into books in a big way! I'm a convert!
I usually buy books for charity shops or, if I'm after something specific, from Amazon otherwise
I've been hunting around for a bookmark that I'll cherish, I'm useless at keeping hold of them usually. I currently have one that I got from a souvenir shop in Greece earlier this year
Hello!
My name is Ashleigh and I am 24. I've been lurking around the forum for a while and now feel ready to contribute.
I loved to read as a child but "lost" the bug as a teenager as I never seemed to have the time! I tended to feel guilty when reading something pleasurable as I had so much academic reading to do, which I rarely go round to in any event!
I've recently found myself with a bit more time on my hands and I seem to caught the bug to read again! I mostly enjoy reading fiction, with a few biographies thrown in for good measure.
I look forward to contributing to the forum!
