  1. My reading this month, so far this year has been very good. My first read was Bridget Jones Baby by Helen Fielding and I am currently reading Misery by Stephen King which I am thoroughly enjoying.

I love Misery, a really great book. So much suspense with so little protagonists and limited setting.

But I ended up racing through it towards the end of December and even squeezed in another book before the end of the year - The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James.

How did you like it? I thought the first half was boring and I almost gave up and dnf-ed it, but then it got really good and suspenseful.

  2. Since I had quite a long Christmas vacation, I've already watched a few films this year.

Two Night Stand (meh, nothing special)

Catch and release (sad, lovely, Silent Bob was good)

Interstellar (oh boy, I hated that one, so freaking boring and plain weird)

The Martian (really liked that one, funny, interesting, suspenseful)

Currently reading The Passage by Justin Cronin.  A really absorbing read, so I am glad I already have the two further books in the trilogy.

I have this on my tbr, and I already read the first 100 pages or so a few years ago. I remember that I really liked it, but I don't remember why I stopped reading.

And now I'm intimidated by it's size (and of the following books in the series) :hide::blush:

What an awesome theme :). I've read the Becky Albertalli books and liked them, are you enjoying them?

Oh yes, they're a lot of fun. I think The upside... is my favourite. I can also highly recommend The rest of us just live here by Patrick Ness and Every Day by David Levithan

  5. I'm participating in a yearlong tbr challenge on Goodreads, where each month has a different theme. This month we read books with lgbt characters.

    So far I've read:

Simon vs the homosapiens agenda by Becky Albertalli

The upside of unrequited by Becky Albertalli

The rest of us just live here by Patrick Ness

    Every Day by David Levithan

    and I'm currently reading:

Leah on the off beat by Becky Albertalli

I've started The Bear and the Nightingale this morning.  Need to read it for my book group meeting early next month, and it sounds like an interesting read, but thought I'd better read it now before I get distracted by Christmas books! :D

I've ordered this one as a christmas present for myself :D

    - When a book series changes cover design mid-series or when an author's books change cover design.
    - When a book series or author's books change size.
    - And while we're being a bit nitpicky: When an author's books or a series' books, changes font or font size (yes, this bothers me!).

Yes, I'm totally on board with you.

Plus: when publishers stop publishing series that aren't done yet.

My Kitty Norville series books are from three different publishers > 3 different designs, 3 different sizes, 2 languages, different fonts, everything.

  8. I can't wait for the third book in the Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss, George R.R. Martin to continue with A song of Ice and Fire, the third Justin Cronin and I'm sure a few others I can't think of right now.

I'm always reluctant to continue reading a series when not all the books have been published yet, as I tend to have to reread them again again if another installment comes out, always forgetting what had happened previously.
