  1. Yeah I thought you might mean some other type of shopping but as it is a book forum of course I had to turn it into a book thing ;) I've been neglecting shopping for new clothes for ages, I've preferred shopping for books =/ I guess it would be good to get back to the clothes shopping mode as it's spring and people are able to see more of me because I cannot just wear my overcoat anymore  Do you have something special in mind? Or are you going to the shops just randomly? It's weird how you always seem to find everything much more easily when you're not looking for anything in particular. The minute you know you have to find something quick it turns out to be impossible and takes forever to find.

I've got no trips planned so far but I do have to go to an English speaking country soon enough to work in order to graduate. You wouldn't happen to know anyone who'd be willing to take me in as their companion, to talk about books for example, and who'd pay money for that? ;)

  2. Well how would I know about your Tescos Schmescos  Live and learn, that's what they say :haha: Well I hope you had fun ONLINE TESCOING! =P

  3. Haa, nice to hear! :D Have you seen the show before, or have you just started watching it? It's such an excellent show, and I can watch it time after time and I never grow tired of it. Quite the opposite, I always notice new things about the show :D If you haven't noticed already, some of us die hard fans have started a thread on the books that are read or mentioned in the show, there's a reading challenge for that. Pop in if you're interested, last month we read Gone with the Wind!

  4. Hiya, thanks for the friend request :D I hope you've been enjoying this forum, I find it the best place to talk books and meet new awesome people :)

  5. I agree, it might be a bad sign! I'm quite certain that it's more difficult to read than the average reading circle novel. The style of the writing and all the different jargons make it more difficult and I think it takes a really dedicated person to finish it. Or someone like you who genuinely enjoed it  I'm really glad you did, by the way, otherwise we'd be feeling a lot worse about voting for the novel. I hope others enjoy it as well. Keeping my fingers crossed! :D

  6. Oh boy, I missed your Birthday, sorry! Happy belated Birthday! *huggles* :)

Just came in here to say, in case you meant it when you said you'd not come back to the girly thread: go back and see Weave's and my post :) Please :)

  7. Bloody hell, I'm sure there was a thread yesterday morning that said Tess Gerritsen was going to be a featured author. But now that you brought it up, it might just be that it was an old post and someone had newly posted on it and I thought it was a brand new thread :irked: I couldn't even find the thread anymore even though I searched for it. Oh well, gives me plenty more time to take up on The Surgeon .. :lurker:

The problems that I've been having are of financial and mental type: I haven't been getting the money that I'm due as a student (because of some minor error) and I've been in the midst of a paper war that I've waged against certain bureaucratic instancies! Meaning, I've been awfully poor lately, paying rent late and eating cheap but tasteless food, and not being able to visit BF. But alas! I received a notice last week that money is on its' way (hence a big fat order placed in play.com) and today it finally came and I did a little book shopping. Can't be blamed for that!

  8. Hi Kylie!

I haven't been active on the forum lately, I've been a bit down I guess. Mostly due to the dust on the pavements and roads, the most (and only) annoying thing about the spring! It makes me cough, sneeze and teary eyed everytime I go outside, nice right? It'll pass in a week or so when they've finally hosed down the roads with nice clean water :)

How've you been? Is the book fair this weekend?? You know I just can't wait to see what you've purchased!! :D

I haven't started The Crimson Petal yet but I'm going to start it tomorrow after I've finished my current true crime read.

BTW, there's this Australian RSPCA (sp?) show on TV every week day, I like it a lot and I always think of you when I see it :)

I hope you're well my friend!

  9. Thanks Janet, I had a nice relaxing day with BF, and had a couple of bookish activities as well :)

  10. Oh yeah and the mental type: I suffer from depression and the meds I've been taking for 1,5 years didn't work anymore and have been trying out new meds which have not been any better either. But worry not, I have an appointment with a psychiatrist and I have total confidence that she'll find something that'll suit me better :)

Yep, I'm excited about The R Girls and Dexter as well :smile2: and I just noticed that the fourth Dexter (D by Design) came out 19th of Feb in UK so I will order that one too.

Yeah I noticed you've been reading that Charlaine Harris' series. I read your review on it and it seemed really interesting and well, I did order that one too from play.com  Hey, everybody seems to be reading it, and you as well, so it can't be bad! I definitely wouldn't be ordering this much from play.com if it weren't so damned cheap! (I usually go for the used ones)

  11. The image of you dancing daintily along the isles of Tesco with your trolly sailing along puts the snort in my laughter  And none of them wonky wheel craps   I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything, that would've cost me a laptop!!

Oh my, first you're not here that much and now you can't get off!! (Hm, no sexual innuendos ) Oh it's been a wonderful 24 hours, a lot of BCF action and reacquainting myself with all you lovely lot <3
