  1. Hallo Luv!

How you doing today? BTW, I don't think we've ever really discussed what you're doing nowadays, careerwise? I read your PM and now know that you don't work with your husband so what you be doing? I just visited Gyre's profile page and noticed her new prof page background and realised that she's got could taste in these things and suggested that you two join your forces and put up some kind of a interior design agency, as I know you've got impeccable taste as well :D

  2. Hallo Nicola!

I'm not going home after all, I'm staying home this weekend (long story). That means I get to go to a friend's housewarming party. The weather's excellent so I'm expecting to have a fab time :D Do you have anything planned?

Agent-Tattletale  Well it's a unique and quite approriate nick for LibraryThing. You know Goodreads is the same thing as LT, the only difference is that on LT you can add 200 books and after that you have to pay a certain amount of money a year to add more. Goodreads is free no matter how much you add ;) I'm frankie on GR as well, very imaginative :D

I can't believe you've never been to London! My friend's been there and she told me about this amazing bookstore that was the hugest thing ever. And apparently the squirrels are the size of cats  And the cider is stronger than in Finland and she got tipsy real soon. Oh and I heard your bars close at about 11 PM or 00.00? Is that true? In Finland the bars close at 2, 3 or 4 AM.

  3. Halloo Charm!

I'm real sorry to hear about the sinus headaches hun :friends0: Especially since you already went through the op and you should be free from these headaches! It's no fair and no fun :( I definitely understand that the pc makes it worse, I think it's a real wonder that you've been able to read! Good thing that you're going to the doctor, I really hope they sort this thing out asap!! I'm reporting them to the union if they don't :motz:

The Black Dagger Brotherhood, hmph. Better than the Sookie books or Twilight? I think I'm going to put this behind my ear ^^ (= Finnish saying for I'll keep it in mind).

I'm good, staying at BF's at the moment. I'm wishing I could finish Gone with the Wind this weekend, I love the book but it's so small print and the book is thick and it's one difficult book to read in bed. And there are many books I'd like to get into! :D

Mojo waning a bit now, but will stick at it! How have you been? I see you're buying and still reading loads

  4. Hello Alison,

hope you are great! I'm okay :) You are so lucky to have seen your fave band so many times and have pics of them :D I hope you got great shots from the Edinburgh gig you just went to.

  5. Hello Charm, I hope you and your family have an excellent New Year's Eve and a better, funnier, more fabulous year 2010 <3

BF's feeling a bit better, and I've gotten my appetite back, or rather I don't feel like vomiting at the mention of food and am able to eat and haven't had fever for a few days now. So I guess we're on the mend :) The only problem is we're low on toiletpaper  It'll be interesting ...

  6. Hello Charm!

I hope everything went well this weekend! Did you get any well deserved rest?

  7. Hello Charm!

I'm having some money issues at the mo which irritates the life out of me, the bureaucracy is ruling again :motz: Due to some technical errors I didn't get my monthly money to pay the rent. It's all sorted out now but I still have to wait who knows how long to get what I was due in the beginning. Argggh.

Otherwise I'm good. How are you? How's your redecorating coming along?

I've been trying to avoid people's book blogs because I really cannot get interested in yet another new book here and there because I'm really trying to decrease the amount TBR, lol! So nope I haven't taken a look at your blog but I will now, it's safe because it's about Dexter which I've read already =P The next in the series is "Dearly Devoted Dexter", and then there is only "Dexter in the Dark" (which I haven't read myself yet) left, the fourth book "Dexter by Design" is due this year!

Oops chicken wings waiting for me in the oven, must dash! :D

  8. Hello Charm!

Thanks for popping in luv :friends0: I'm good, how are you? BF's in town so I don't want to start answering PMs because I know I'd get easily interrupted at some point :) I'm just popping in every now and then to see what people are talking about in here.

Thank you Charlaine Harris for your books, they take good care of Charm now that she's read all there is to Twilight!! (Man you were quick!! :icon_eek:)

Have a happy lovely Monday :D

  9. Hello Echo!

Thanks for your friend request! :) Your profile page is beautiful by the way! To me it seems very Asian and very Geisha-like. Geisha as in the Finnish chocolate by the Finnish company Fazer. Now I want chocolate

  10. Hello Gyre, and thanks for the request :friends0: Nice to meet other Sagittariuses :)

I've noticed that a lot of your avatars are manga/anime-related and I've been wondering how'd you get into it? And correct me if I'm wrong but you seem to read a lot of Japanese literature?

  11. Hello Gyre,

I'm great thanks, how are you? :friends0: I've been pretty busy lately but I'm still able to read every now and then. No, I have definitely not recovered from Bill Compton's revelations!!! I'm on Facebook and took the Which vampire is for you -test and while Charm and Nicola got Eric, I got stupid Bill Compton!!! :motz: Are you on Facebook? Have you taken the test?

  12. frankie

Hello ii, what are you up to and where are you hiding??

Just popped in to say Happy New Year :smile2:

  13. Hello Kookie, I'm glad you joined us :D How are you enjoying the forum?

I've heard that you have two dogs, and sometimes when you are reading on the trampolin, one of them comes there too and jumps around and messes about a little until he settles down next to you. That must be fun

  14. Hello LaineyW!

I noticed that you are quite new to the forum and I just thought I'd welcome you here, I hope you enjoy the forum! :) By the way, your avatar is sooo adorable:D

  15. Hello Laura, how are you?

I'm so sorry, I've forgotten to post the Kampusch book! I was visiting my parents last week and forgot to post the book before going to Nurmes, and the week before that I had a guest with me for a whole week and we spent the time studying like mad men. I'll try and get the book in the post this week, I swear! *embarrassed* :)

  16. Hello Mac!

I know it's been ages! Just haven't had the nerve to say hi because haven't been reading any Iain Banks' stuff or haven't managed to recruit BF =P I actually have noticed that you've bought the Dexter books, but I've also always noticed that you keep saying you should start reading them. Now what's up fellar? Don't think you could handle someone like Dex? You might be quite right there, he's a tough cookie.

BTW, what a lovely present, book tokens :D This makes me happy. There are still people who know exactly what to get to a person!

Was I really your first friend? Oh my, I hope I havent' been the poorest of the bunch :lol:

Whatcha reading right now? I'm ploughing through the Sookie Stackhouse books like everyone else ^^

  17. Hello Nicola,

I'm great thanks! It's Midsummer this weekend and I'm really looking forward to it! After that I'm going to visit my BF's parents and go to Helsinki as well so there's a lot of visiting friends (and secondhand bookshops and the huge three floor bookstore!) ahead :D Do you celebrate Midsummer in England?

I'm really not liking Let The Right One In being like Lestat, that's the worst thing one can say about a novel :S I'm hoping to disagree with you on this one

You're right, I'm allowed to get disheartened from time to time as well as others who tread the treadmill to lose weight so to speak. Haha tread the treadmill, wasn't that funny. Don't crack now Nicola, you're doing so well! 5,5 pound is really good and I'm so proud of you :D If you do crack though, have a good time doing it, don't feel guilty about it and get back on track immediately after!

  18. Hello SaraPepparkaka!

I was browsing through adlibris.com because they have currently free postage days. Whenever I'm searching for something I notice that the Swedish paperback titles are always incredibly cheap, cheaper than the original English titles. As I was browsing just now I realised that I should ask you if you are aware of the website? Since you read in Swedish you might have use for it :)

  19. Hello there, how are you? I hope everything's fine and dandy with you :D

I don't know if you've already noticed but the Rory Gilmore book group is thinking about reading something in March, quite possibly Rebecca, Wuthering Heights or The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay and I thought I'd mention it to you in case you've missed it :)

  20. Hello,

I don't think I've seen you recently on the forum? I'm just reading my first Rebus book ever and thought of you. I hope you're alright :D

  21. Hello! :)

Were you able to go and see Let the Right One In?

My friend has a sort of a home theatre movie thingy, this huge screen on the wall and we watch a lot of movies together. He's got a massive collection of movies and he sometimes gives me his list of movies and I can pick what I want to watch and then we watch 'em. Guess what he has got??? Let The Right One In!! I've got dibs on it now :D

  22. frankie

    Hello!

And yes please! :smile2: I do like Kathy Reichs but have only read the first two books, but I blame Stephenie Meyer. Now that I'm over her, I have time to read other wonderful books. I guess there are quite a few Tempe Brennans before I'll get to Break No Bones but worry not, it will be read and cherished ;) Do you want something for the postage/the book?

I know how you feel about there not being a Booth! I've watched a couple of episodes of Bones and didn't like it, but had heard so many great things about the books that I had to try. Turns out the books are good but there's no Booth! What's that about? I wasn't actually a fan of his but I liked the chemistry between him and Brennan in the tv-series and was expecting something like that in the novels. Of course you must have taken it harder. I'm so sorry for you.

    I'll PM you my info.

    With many thanks,

    frankie

  23. Hello!

I hope you're settling in just nicely! I have to brag a little: the forum here is the bestest ever, people here are so friendly! :D

  24. Hello!

I'm so pleased you finally had the time to carry on with The Coffin Dancer! It's a real pageturner isn't! Just you wait till you get the end, oh boy! :D I got the next 3 books this week and I can't wait to read them.

I'm glad that you presentation went well. I never understand those tasks when you first have to write something and get it marked and then you have to do the same thing only with double the word amount. It's like they want to mess with your head just for laughs. That's uni for you!

I'm an English major Swedish minor so practically all the presentations in uni were in a foreign language. But I don't speak Swedish nearly as well as English (in Finland we usually start English in 3rd grade and Swedish in 7th) so it was really intimidating especially as I hate doing presentations.

  25. Hello!

Nice to hear your outing went well :D Too bad about the weather but like you said there was that gazebo and patio heater so things could have been worse. Don't worry about possible overeating part, you can make up for that next week :) Our dieting doesn't mean that we have to abstain from everything all the time! It sounds like you had a great time so it was worth it :)

What's up with that son of yours? You'd think he'd be in his best behavior so he'd get to stay home alone. :irked: I bet it's just a teen thing like you said, but still, it doesn't sound very nice. I hope he'll come around soon!

You should make time for yourself to visit your fave charityshops soon, it's not good for the soul to stop going there for so long!! The shopkeepers might become worried as well and we don't want that. I'm really looking forward to the charityshops and secondhand bookshops, there are so many of them in Lahti and Helsinki.
