Thank you guys! We do have a day off from school/work. Otherwise it's a peaceful sort of celebration. We still remember the war and think of all the soldiers who died. It's also winter in here, so that puts a damper on things as well. It's certainly nothing like the fourth of July in America, for example. Mostly we visit cemeteries, light candles, eat well and watch the presidential gala on TV I like it that way. It's a day of peace in the otherwise hectic December...

Wouldn't it be wonderful if I played secret Santa and bought the whole set for you so you could think of me more often?

Hi Frankie
I hope you don't mind me dropping by . I noticed your post on the main page about the snow . I don't know much about your weather over that way .Is it cold most of the time, and do you have snow a big part of the year ? We usually get our first snowflakes late Otober, but the first snow that really sticks to the ground is usually later in November .

Hello Laura, how are you?
I'm so sorry, I've forgotten to post the Kampusch book! I was visiting my parents last week and forgot to post the book before going to Nurmes, and the week before that I had a guest with me for a whole week and we spent the time studying like mad men. I'll try and get the book in the post this week, I swear! *embarrassed*

Frankie had a blast in Estonia, it was very pretty, the language is beautiful (and amusing to us Finns), and I had very good company. Spent a bit too much money... Tomorrow Frankie goes to see Korn!!!

Hello Sara, how are you? I was going through my books for my book swap thread, and I have some Finnish novels to offer, but I realised you're most likely the only other person besides me on here who lives in Finland, and since you are a Swedish speaker, there's probably no reason for me to offer any Finnish titles because I assume you don't read anything in Finnish?
