  1. I finished Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty yesterday. Today I got The Rise and Fall of Becky Sharp from the library, I think I will read it next!
  2. At the moment, The Wall (Finnish edition). As for series I'm watching, I will mention Vanity Fair which I'm absolutely loving, Relationship Status, The Real Housewives of New York City.
  3. Oh dear, I think you meant to post this in some other thread? As for the actual post, I've heard others complain about the same thing, i.e. Martin needing to get a move on with the books! There was, however, a post on imgur or some such place where they had counted how long it had taken other authors to finish their series and so on and they claimed that Martin wasn't taking any longer than other authors of similar series and genres. Personally, I don't know! I haven't started the first book yet. I'm eagerly waiting to see the final season on TV!!!
  4. I can't say that I've read The Haunted Bookshop, I'm afraid! Thinking about spooky classics now... Dracula by Bram Stoker. Hm, is that all I can think of? I've not read a single classic in ages, which is very bad of me!
  5. I agree with muggle not, I really enjoyed The Graveyeard Book, too! And of course the Jack Vance books must be vodkafan's influence
  6. You've read a huge amount of books, Brian! Well done! I'm most happy about you having read and loved Dracula! It was on my TBR list for a long time, too, but I thought I'd not get on with it at all... and was surprised how much I loved it! A definite 5/5 and a must re-read at some point
  7. Great review of Cujo! I can't for the life of me remember if I already commented on the review on FB, so if I'm repeating myself, do forgive me! But it was a really horrifying novel, wasn't it? I mean I was scared to read on and see how things escalated. I agree what you said about feeling sorry for Cujo, as he couldn't help it at all. I think King did a great job, writing from Cujo's perspective, as well. One of the scenes that haunts me most about the novel is when
  8. It's good to see people coming back to their threads
  9. I had a feeling you'd be overjoyed, willoyd, as I knew you were never a huge FB fan! Happy days!

I don't mind ads at all when I know it's helping you keep the forum going! Also, remember to ask us to renew our member's subscriptions so we can help you out money-wise! I'm mighty curious about the new ideas you have in store for us! Your friend, is he a reader? We'd be delighted to have him on board! Good luck with everything and thanks, again!!
  11. I read my 28th book this year. This year I'm hoping to make it past 35 books, as that was last year's sucky total!
  12. It's a must thread on the forum, I feel I just finished reading The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand, and I really enjoyed it! Perfectly flowing not too serious fiction after the non-fiction book on Trump I read before it. Not sure what to read next.
  13. Such happy news, thank you Hayley for taking over and saving the forum!
  14. Thanks Andrea! Have fun saving your content! I've downloaded Libre Office on the recommendation of BF, it's supposed to be better. I hope it'll make things easier for me, was already having problems with Open Office again.
  15. I'm very late to this, but I just wanted to say a huge Thank You to you, Michelle, for the forum! This has been an amazing place and it's made a big impact on my life. I would never have made the amazing friends I have made on here otherwise, and it's been such a pleasure to have a place where I could talk about books with like minded people. And it's not just about having a place - it's been such a warm, welcoming and friendly place! Thank you also to all the Mods, you've done a great job over the years!
  16. I still need to save PM threads. I tried earlier but the format clashed with Open Office, after I'd already done a lot of work on saving stuff. I need to start again. How long would you say one had before you'd have to do the upgrade? I'll be working on saving content this weekend, luckily I have nothing else planned and have the flu so don't even have to go to work.
  17. Very obviously, this is my favorite memory, too! The time we spent together was amazing! You were such a fabulous hostess and your family's amazing, too! I never ever would have met you if it wasn't for the forum, and that's a very scary thought. Who knew I would would meet my soul sister on the opposite side of the world My fondest memories of the forum are the friendships I've made, and the times we've talked about books, and gone off-topic, too. I loved the times of the Deaverettes and Dexterettes I also enjoyed the Reading Circle, I got to read some great books through that. I am grateful for all the book suggestions and recommendations and all the conversations. It's 10 years since I joined and so much stuff can go into 10 years.
  18. You've been here 19 hours ago, according to my knowledge, so I think this might still reach you: I have now read the book! I started it last weekend and finished it last Thursday or so. I really liked it! I gave it 4/5. I found Sam and Charlie really captivating characters, and I wish I could read more about them! I liked how there was something to be discovered in the old story, and I was really surprised by what had really happened at the school! My favorite bit was how I'm really glad you weren't disappointed! But I never expected you to be! We definitely could have had more convos on Slaughter and Steinbeck, and who knows which other authors. And just when we were discovering mutual favorite authors and books to share! I take it you won't be joining the FB group? We will all miss this place
  19. I was also told that a lot of future happening are hinted at in earlier seasons. It was kind of frustrating to hear that when I was watching the show because I kept trying to outsmart the show and of course that didn't happen. I need to just re-watch the whole thing like everyone else
  20. Hello Loretta, and welcome to the forum!
  21. Great! I think I'd watch any Kinsella movie
  22. Yes, bring in the snow!! I really like how you're making such progress with your reading and more importantly, how you are enjoying the whole thing! It's inspiring! Little Pixie, thanks for the article! I found it very enlightening, and have now started keeping record of what I do all day. I hope to get more productive
  23. I started and finished watching Married at First Sight Australia season 4. I was nervous about something and it was too hot to do anything else and I needed the distraction and so I binge watched the whole season Good stuff! I finished The Fourth Estate which I really enjoyed. I've now started watching Who Is America, and so far the episodes (2) have been hilarious! Good old SBC! LOL at the endless roller-skating Like you, I'm also somewhat annoyed by the flashbacks, but I'm still happy to continue with the series.
