  1. I am about half way through reading my first book by Harlan Coben - The Woods. So far it is an excellent read. It is one of those books, that if I have a spare 5 minutes, I have to pick the book up and read a few pages. If it keeps up like this it will be a 10/10.
  2. I have just finished reading "...Kevin". I found it very slow and the first 150 pages were hard work. After that it picked up and liked the last section of the book. I would probably give it a 7/10. Not got "19 minutes" yet but am tempted to give it a go.
  3. Just finished reading it and wow! what a book. Best book I have read this year. I would certainly recommend it
  4. Thanks for all the comments. I think personally, I would have to leave it a couple of years before I would re-read a book
  5. Will do. Sorry for the hassle
  6. When I think of all the books I have read in the past it strikes me I have never read a science fiction book. Any recommendations as to a good author etc. Where is a good place to start. BTW not too keen on Harry Potter.....
  7. Just curious - where do you get your books from? Do you buy new? if so where (good bookshop or is there a good online store) or do you buy from second hand shops? David
  8. Only just getting back into reading but was wondering do you ever re-read books or are you like me (so far) and read a book once and then that is it - goes on the shelf..... If you do re-read books how long do you leave it before reading it again?
  9. Thanks for all the comments. This morning I took to work "The Book Thief". Read about 100 pages so far, different sort of book from what I normally read, but enjoying it very much. Think I am going to have a good time reading the book:)
  10. Hi I am new here and have just introduced myself. I have just finished reading Engleby - Sebastian Faulks I have 4 books in my possesssion that I have not read yet. Which should be next? Any of you read these books and have some comments to make The Book Thief - Markus Zusak A Quiet Belief In Angels - R.J Elliot The Woods - Harlan Coben We Need To Talk About Kevin - Lionel Shriver Cheers
  11. A few words to introduce myself. David currently living in Edinburgh. I used to really enjoy reading books when at school (over 20 years ago) but got out the habit. Just recently have been spending a lot more time reading books. Normally find time on bus to work and during work breaks - better than reading newspapers like I usually did. Favourite author since I started reading again is John Grisham although I am willing to try most types of book to enlarge my 'reading knowledge'. The last three books I have read are The Abduction - Mark Giminez The Innocent Man - John Grisham Engleby - Sebastian Faulks I look forward to reading your recommendations throughout the forum
