  1. Lost in the Forest, by Sue Miller... I really liked this book, even though there were parts of it that had difficult subject matter. The author treads a fine line regarding molestation and making it very real. It is a coming of age story for Daisy, the 13 year old heroine of the book and also for her father (who is not the bad guy and that is not spoiling anything). But her dad grows up himself in response to her need for him. I was one of those books that when you wake up at 6:00 am and you have 30 minutes before your alarm goes off you get up to read more before you have to get ready to go to work.
  2. I have read My Sister's Keeper, Vanishing Acts, and Plain Truth. And I actually like them in that order. My Sister's Keeper is one of my favorite books of all time. The ending is fantastic because I lent that book to a friend at work, who passed away about two weeks ago. It was interesting to me that we had just discussed life and death in relation to this book, and now she is gone.-sorry off subject. The other two books were fine easy reads but not as great as My Sister's Keeper.
  3. I am on a couple of other forums for other hobbies and today when I was driving the car I thought to myself I wonder if there is a book club forum? There have been a couple of books I have read lately that I just really wished that I had someone to discuss them with. When I found this website I was excited to see that one of those books is on your readers circle (My Sister's Keeper). I am currently reading two books, a collection of short stories called American Girls About Town. and I am reading a biography of Henry Ward Beecher called The Most Famous Man in America. Other recent reads include two other Jodi Piccoult books, Vanishing Acts and Plain Truth. Neither were as good as My Sister's Keeper. I also really liked Lost in the Forest any one else read that? I can't recall the author's name right now. Well, I am looking forward to some good recommendations and some good discussions.
