  1. I've loved hockey since I was about five, so no, the thesis had nothing to do with that... And as we both like to keep a low profile when it comes to our private life I'd rather not say. I'm sure you understand.

  2. Hi!

I'm good, thank you. And you?

I'm glad you enjoyed Would you?, and thank you for letting me know.

  3. Nothing! Who ever told you that was just trying to get me in trouble. I'm an angel, honestly! The horns are there just to keep the halo up straight.

  4. Yup. Finland's one ahead of France and two of UK.

    Instant sminstant. Blah!

Thank you! I'm feeling good about it. It's basically just math. It's Monday that's killing me. (as you can see from my dedication to studying, and my ignoring all other timewasters... not.)

  5. Good Morning!

Three down. Two at home, then one at school. *laughs* I've been super-efficient today, and it's only 12.30. I returned a book to library (nothing interesting, "Linear programming" somethingorother), went to get the lecture material so that I know what they've covered in class and know what to study for Monday's exam (I did the class last year, I just didn't do the exam, so I need to do it now, and I've lost my copy of the notes) and I had a dentist's appointment. Came to school, had an early lunch and as I have an exam in hour and half I'm now in the library, studying (read: surfing the Net).

  6. Oh, they came? Brilliant!! I hope you like them. And do stock up on Kleenex for Would you?, it made me cry. I'll keep you posted if I decide to part with anything else, of course. Enjoy your books!

  7. I think your avatar is wonderful! I love Disney, and Winnie the Pooh, so it's just the cutest. And it reminds me of the teddy bear of my godaughter, 'cause my friend (her mom) just made the teddy a pumpkin costume. Yes, to the TEDDY! *laughs*

  8. Hello!

I'm fine, thank you. Keeping busy with school and stuff. And of course enjoying my new hair (that includes the "OMG! That looks horrible! I'll never learn to do this right on my own" bit after washing my hair. I did get it right in the end, though.)...

    How are you?

  9. ii

*laughs* No harm done, don't worry!

  10. ii

    Morning!

I like Où es-tu. It's a bit different, and it always takes me a while to get used to Levy's style of writing, especially after reading English/American texts (and even more so after Scandinavian or Asian!). I loved his Et si c'était vrai... I'm still at the very beginning, but I'll keep you posted. Have you read it?

Awww, good luck!! *laughs out loud* I'm thinking of just taking it easy for today, reading, knitting, thesis work... (what?? I consider thesis work as fun! *laughs*) I just wish I had alpine skiing coverage...

  11. ii

Oh, no! Poor thing... It's the little things that end up taking the most time. I remember putting off checking a couple of references for my Bachelor's thesis for months!

*laughs* Yes, you got me, I secretly work for the CIA. Oh, and I know the feeling! I'm so torn up between places I don't know where I belong! I grew up in Paris, that's why your phrase "English books are expensive in Paris" hit home. But I haven't really lived there for years now. And DD hasn't lived there for even longer.

I know, I quite enjoy the privacy myself. Yet, you find yourself writing, maybe because of that privacy ans anonymity, more and more personal things online. I've always taken comfort in the fact that in the end no one's really that interested. *laughs*

  12. ii

    Hi,

I meant to ask before, did you get the report done? *smile*

Did I understand you correctly, do you actually live in Paris? No need to answer, if you don't feel like it, though, as I can fully understand if you're reluctant to share private information over the Net...

  13. You could try to strech them. A gobbler may be able to so something, assuming it's borderline ill-fitting. It won't hurt to ask... Support stockings can also sometimes make your foot smaller. (I've had some serious "shoes slipping off" problems due to that effect.) It doesn't always work, but it might.

  14. Awww, they sound adorable! But too big for me, I'm afraid. What a shame!

  15. Okay, I'm interested. What size are they?

  16. Well, it certainly wasn't a question I was expecting... *laughs* It varies from shoe to shoe, but mostly 37-38. That's about 5 in UK. Why???

  17. ii

Oh, brilliant!! Thanks for letting me know.

  18. ii

Thank you! Yes, it was the cost accounting one. But I think it went well, all things considered.

    Good Morning!

With 'social circuit' I basically meant the whole see-and-be-seen, parties, charity events, wearing-the-right-designer thing. Had I stayed nead DD I would have been roped into playing hostess to his parties and going to all the social events he needs me to go, and I just didn't want to do that. I mean, I do that, on occasion, but I now get to have my pick on what to attend and I quite like that.

Haha, I know what you're talking about, I have an exam tomorrow! And as I knew I'm busy elsewhere today, I did manage a lot yesterday! *laughs* ... I wasn't really that active. I was studying the whole time (it's not really that difficult material, just a lot of vocabulary and definitions) but I had the forum open and I kept my eye on that too. I'm glad we managed to entertain you!

I'm all messed up over days and such because of the travelling, so I have no idea what happened to the weekend. I've been wondering the same thing...

Hope you have a nice day at work!

    A bientôt!

*stares at her computer, not getting it, and laughing at herself for being too stupid to get it* And I'm usually so good with irony and stuff like that. I'm clearly too tired! Off to bed!

  21. ii

How did saying "don't you dare drag me into to this!" made me sound that? (I'm very tired, my brain malfunctioned few hours ago, so I'm just having a cup of Rooibos and reading about handbags. Few more minutes and I'm going to bed with the latest Elle...) Not that I mind, not at all! I'm just confused....

  22. ii

"a woman of the world"?? *laughs* What?? I'm pulling a Lost in Translation here, I'm certain...

  23. ii

*laughs* I've been working on school stuff the whole day at my dest, so I've kept my computer open, taken care of email and kept an eye on the forum at the same time. It's been a surprisingly productive day!

It's wasn't me! It was bev! If you're talking the naughty bits. The funny bits was me. *grin*

    *laughs* happens. Especially at 2AM.

Oh, she's the real Grand Old Lady. She makes you go change your outfit if you try to wear trousers for lunch. I love her to bits. ... As for Finland, it was my decision in the end. And it's not like I live with her, or ever that near her. I was interested in EU issues at the time, and basically came here because of this one professor who's really really good in EU economics. (Of course after doing my Bachelor's Thesis in EU issues, I got totally bored with the whole thing, and decided to focus on game theory and Economics of sport instead.) But yeah, it was my call to come over. I also didn't want to do the social circuit so much, but to have a few years of "normalcy", so it was good to move away from dad.

You're probably very right about that!

It's the last minute fright. Seriously. Just like nothing would ever get done if there wasn't deadlines. It's human nature to do things at the very last minute. So at 2AM, you know you need to get to bed soon, so you force some productivity in order to acieve something still "today", i.e. before going to bed. I know I do that. I wrote half of my Bachelor's Thesis at the early morning hours. Good thing I like coffee!
