  1. How old is your daughter, Sofia?
  2. It was a horrendous period in history, truly. And you are so right, we should definintely learn from it, princessponti! And Gyre, you should be able to find the stories of Anne Frank easily, if anything you could get your local library to borrow it from somewhere else.
  3. Have you ever read her short stories and the diary entries that her father had edited out when he got it published? I didn't find her stories quite as interesting as her diary, though. They were very juvenile, most of them. But still, I find it interesting that they were written by her own hand while she was in hiding in the annex. It's interesting to read things like that, things that inform you on the life of a real person..... You should read the book, Liz!
  4. Has anyone ever read Anne Frank's diary? I read it very recently and enjoyed it, especially because of the fact that it was the diary of a real young Jewish-German girl who lived during those terrible years of WWII. Actually, her diary itself does not contain any deep details of the horrible things that went on, but there is an "AFTERWARDS" section that is not part of her diary that they include in the book. It tells more about the terrors of it all... just warning you in case you don't like reading that kind of thing. Especially if you are a very young reader, you will not want to read that section. Has anyone read it before and did they enjoy it?
  5. Awww...how very nice, Welshy and Emma! Birthday: Dec. 13, 1991 Age: I'll be 15 in one month Starsign: Sagittarius Single/Married/Other? Single Children? No Where do you live? New England Do you work? No, except I do housework and watch little ones. And...SCHOOL! Favourite author? Too hard to choose! Favourite book? Same as above! How did you get here? Google search for a good book club. And I'm so glad I found it!
  6. Well I don't really cry over TV programs, either. I don't cry over Charlotte's Web, though I may have when I was younger. I can usually control my tears while watching something, unless it's the most terribly sad, sweet movie....then you'll see a tear or two roll down from glistening eyes....
  7. I know...they're really such dreadful little creatures, aren't they? Oh and by the way, this may sound ridiculous but where can I enable my signature? I looked in my Control Panel, but can't seem to find the place.
  8. I've never read the series, actually, though I think I would like to sometime. I have watched some of the movies, though. I don't think that "Katy" from "What Katy Did" is supposed to be the same "Katy" as in the "Anne of Green Gables" Series. What a coincidence, though! Just a few days ago, I was thinking that I would like to read the "What Katy Did" series. Seeing as I have had it for quite awhile, but never read it! And it does look interesting!
  9. I read it once before. I remember I liked it. I was much younger then, though, so I don't remember it too well. I wached the animated film too, Kell! It was so sad when Charlotte died. *sniff* Oh, and by the way, thank-you for the welcome message. It was very nice!
