  1. Hiya John,

sorry I missed your birthday, but happy belated birthday and hope it was fab!

  2. I have never read Misery, but have seen the movie so I would find that one interesting.
  3. My favorite breakfast would be a small stack of Pancakes with butter, and maple syrup, 3 eggs over medium, 2 slices of bacon and 2 link sausages, country potatoes, and maybe one biscuit with gravy. Large Coffee. ___________________________________________________________________ What I really have: A bowl of Cheerios, (oat cereal) with one packet of substitute sugar, half glass of Milk at 1% for the cereal, one banana and a cup of coffee. I have this about five days a week.
  4. Wow talk about some printouts. I have to hand it to him to do that kind of research to get his novel accurate is to be commended, especially in today's world where many reporters do not get the second backup on a story to make sure of it's accuracy and validity.
  5. A friend of mine at another site posted it and said it was a good site, and thus I checked it out and like it. Thats my story and I am sticking to it............................
  6. I am only a book Nazi when it comes to my technical books such as Windows XP Registry repair, or my time life series for home repairs. If the books are for just general pleasure and not a learning series than I don't get angry.
  7. I have read four mentioned here, and one of my favorites is Cujo. The book is good but when they turned it into a movie it is a bit scary. I could never get into Christine, the story of the 58 Plymouth Fury that is more human than car.
  8. I have read most of his novels, love the law related ones. As of October the 10th he will have a new book coming out called "The Innocent Man" sounds like a good one based upon his site. The worst one that I thought was a throw away was the Bleachers. The rest are winners. Per review: John Grisham departs from the legal thrillers to experiment with a character-driven tale of reunion, broken high school dreams, and missed chances. While the book falls short of the compelling storytelling that has made Grisham a bestselling author, it is nonetheless a diverting novella that succeeds as light fiction.
  9. Galactic space Hamster, that recipe sounds good. Orange adds great flavor to meats. I have a spare rib recipe that I bake using a orange glaze at the end to add a zesty sweet taste to a tart one.

  11. The most I have ever paid is about $275 for two, but that was a special occasion and not something I would normally do. It is easy to spend that kind of money in San Francisco for dinner. We average about $50 dollars for two at the places we go to. See below Chez Pannise restaurant. Chef Alice Waters (Been there a few times) http://www.chezpanisse.com/pgdownmenu.html
  12. I really agree on this. I don't think great chefs make a great meal when you consider a restaurant environment is not as good as someones home. Too many variables and people handling the food. I have been to some pretty good restaurants in Northern California, San Francisco bay area in which we are known for good dining and none of them compare to home cooking. They are OK, and a treat from time to time, but the thing I personally dislike is too much emphasis is placed on presentation. I am concerned with the actual preparation and outcome of the food being prepared. Most of my favorite restaurants are family owned small and worth going to for great food.
  13. My wife who is hispanic (Mexican) learned how to cook it from her mother and there are many recipes with various ingredients to it. http://chicken.allrecipes.com/az/FidMxicnSpghtti.asp http://tinyurl.com/zjh8h ________________________________________________________________ * 2 tablespoons vegetable oil * 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves * 1 (12 ounce) package spaghetti noodles, broken in half * 5 roma (plum) tomatoes, chopped * 1 large onion, chopped * 1/2 tablespoon ground cumin * 2 1/2 teaspoons chili powder * salt and pepper to taste * 1 1/2 cups water * 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese ________________________________________________________________ 1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken breasts in the oil until nicely browned on the outside. Remove from the skillet and set aside. 2. Add remaining oil to the skillet, and add the broken spaghetti. Cook, stirring constantly until spaghetti is browned. Drain off any excess oil, and add tomatoes and onion. Dice the chicken breasts, and return them to the skillet. Season with cumin, chili powder, salt and pepper. Pour in water, cover, and simmer over medium-low heat until pasta is tender, and water has been absorbed, about 10 minutes. Check towards the end, and add more water if necessary. 3. Spoon the chicken mixture into bowls to serve, and garnish with shredded cheese.
