  1. Todays episode was good! Getting so exciting!! Couldn't believe it ended though! Wanted to keep watching
  2. thanks Kylie... I will have to read it! It seems to have such mixed reviews...if only it wasn't so long!!
  3. Definately, that was what was so interesting, you can only get across the emotional content if you show the part that Marley played in the family's life
  4. definately, I always enjoy reading his books - have 'wish you were here' on my desk here waiting to be read... sometime soon!
  5. *food fight*!!! lol ...today we went to Marks and Sparks and enjoyed their 3 course meal for
  6. YAY!!! They're coming back!!!! Was so unhappy that I missed them! Not going to make that mistake again! Looking at your photos made me realise what a mistake it was to not go! ..Jordan looks as yummy as he did when I was a teenager! ...still got my Jordan doll in the kitchen with his little pony tail thing at the back (what was that about?!?!) *jealous*
  7. Looking forward to episode 3 tomorrow night - after 1 and 2 - I'm as confused as ever!!! What's going on!!! ....was nice to see old friends though, have missed Hurley and Sawyer being on my tv ...karen, it was a great moment with Anna Lucia!!! a real lean forward in your chair moment. Don't know what the who is going on though!!
  8. I have never owned a dog, but I loved this book - I recommend to liberally! Great reviews!
  9. O I can't believe you read this as reading circle for december!!! I was reading it in december (as I do every year) I could have joined in *sulks*
  10. I read the trilogy last year, really enjoyed it! I think the last book was my least favourite though, wasn't as satisfying as the other two. He has such imagination though, you can really feel the world he created, and I love Lyra, actually, all the characters are pretty well defined and interesting.
  11. Would you class Mike Gayle as chicklit? His are the only ones I read that I would put in the genre... I like his writing
  12. It is an incredibly rewarding read - I found it daunting in hardback and couldn't get through it - the 3 volume paperback set is much much easier. ...Let us know how you get on chrysalis
  13. One of my favourite books! Read it twice now :-) ...so I would say... persevere! I have a whole swathe of books by Stephen Fry that someone gave me; I really enjoyed the one that I have read, but for some reason I just can't seem to pick up the others, I think because I didn't pick them myself? Cloud Atlas is also one I can't pick up, I've been told its not very good but I really want to read it - the conflict of emotions has gotten in the way on this one!
  14. I read the Horse Whisperer, and it was so so sad! I could see the Smoke Jumper going that way as I was reading it and couldn't face the heartache! Sensitive soul I am!! ...I still have it on the shelf though I think - is it sad?
  15. I'm a lot more settled now so will am determined to be around more xx I'm more often in flickr and facebook at the moment, if you're on either of those?

Soooo jealous of nkotb!!! i decided it was too expensive, but really regretting that decision now! ..going to go and make myself green by looking at your photos! hope you and family are well and happy xx

  16. Thanks Janet xx I'm gonna try harder to stick around this time! Hope you are well x

  17. I have read none too - I'm always a bit behind on these things
  18. Wow thats an interesting comment *edges slowly out of the thread*
  19. Thanks Michelle :-) ...been getting back into the book thang lately, and I do miss this lovely chatty forum xx

  20. I have a number that I have put down that I will never pick up again (Smoke Jumper by Nicholas....?), and some that I have put down that I really want to read (Anansie Boys by Neil Gaiman). Some you know you are just not going enjoy or are not going to turn out in a way that will be satisfying, or in the case of Smoke Jumper, feel like they're going to be just too sad to read! Others, you may just not be in the right frame of mind for at the time. I love Neil Gaiman, I'm hopeful that I just picked to read his book at the wrong time and next time I come to it I wil enjoy it.
  21. Reading in bed is and always will be the best place, especially if there is a supply of tea and biscuits - heaven!!! I do like the book bath too though - wine is the drink of choice for that one!
  22. I spent one summer whilst doing a-levels engrossed in Flowers in the Attic; barely left the sofa! Spent most of that summer with swollen eyes from crying so much! Loved them though. The Lovely Bones disturbed me so much that I stopped reading it after about three chapters and removed it from my home! Horrible horrible horrible.
  23. O I'm sorry to hear about your Grandad xx Hope you and your family are ok xx

Kittens are lovely, the pictures are so cute! I'm gonna miss these two kitties when they leave me in two weeks - as much as they frustrate me know!! :)
