  1. Took me a day, and I can't make it!
  2. Simon Hall Death Pictures - second in a series about a TV crime reporter working sometimes with the police, liked the plot lots of twists and turns main characters are decent and good wins, always a winner for me. Then Mike Gayle Wish you were here, boy chick lit really light and fluffy but left a few questions for me, not sure somehow where he wanted to go. Hue and Cry Shirley McKay just started. (can you tell I have laryngitis - sent home yesterday!)
  3. Ann Purser "Murder on Monday" a bit like Agatha Raisin for me. 3/5
  4. OFSTED Three day notice inspections! Should be ready but never are
  5. Lovely to see you all again. Am really trying to get back in the groove but never know when events will overtake me! Unfortunately he does the hoovering, and the washing and the nagging! I just work!
  6. Certain authors I will read all of and get the series as they start (mainly thrillers and terrible chick lit - not that I mean chick lit is terrible but the terrible bonk buster chick lit like Jilly Cooper which I devour and wait impatiently for!) Then books look at what others recommend and then follow like a sheep!
  7. Still blaming OFSTED although they did leave on 29th Jan. Looking back wistfully at my organisation! 155 read so far this year. Reading Val McDermid Trick of the Dark - above average thriller about a serial killer which has me gripped. 3.5/5
  8. Great review Lucy. I cannot tell you how much this book blew me away, chilled me and could not put it down. Went away with two friends who were reading and they were the same. Not sure if enjoyed is the right word but will stay with me for a long time, the language was incredible.
  9. I liked What was Lost Ruth, and heard the author speak, her next one is as good, less creepy but still a cracking read. As you say lots of familiar places for me as well.
  10. And then I disappear again although I have been hovering! What a lovely new place, I am around still and love all your book conversations x Take care Louise x
  11. Happy Birthday Louise!
