  1. Love this guy. First saw him on the ABC's "Sideshow". They've posted some of his songs on YouTube. What a hoot.
  2. Just realised that I mis-read your post, and you were asking for the book that first tackled the homeland issue. Sorry for the hic-up. I think you'll find the title is "Divided in Death"
  3. Read the latest couple of the In Death Series and have found I'm enjoying the series again. J D Robb [aka Nora Roberts] has included more of the support characters and injected a bit of grit again.
  4. I think you're refering to "Missing in Death" , which is a novella in "The Lost"
  5. Haven't read her prior to getting an a copy of "Deadly Intent" just after Christmas. I have to say, I enjoyed it thoroughly. I believe this is her latest in the Ann Travis Series. Will definitly try some of her others.
  6. I think all of Australia cringed when the Americans did a film adaption of Colleen McCullough's "Thornbirds". Agggghhhh! Too scary. I really felt sorry for the couple of dozen sheep the used to shove around from shot to shot to enhance the feeling of being on an Outback Station (farm). Even the sheep seemed to be embarrassed to be there. I saw an interview with McCullough - not a happy camper about it and swore never to sell the rights to her books without having control, if ever at all. I believe her kindest comment re the film was "stupid".
  7. Oh, what a great little book that is! Thanks for the reminder. Agree with you re film... was hard to take it seriously.
  8. Always read the intoduction and publisher details prior to settling in for the 'story'. Maybe it's because my Mum was a research librarian. Can't remember not doing it.
  9. Hear hear. Really enjoyed this one.
  10. I enjoy the comfortable read of these books. Also, the stepping back in time gives me a giggle (as I remember it well).
  11. Love the first book so much.... before I knew about the series. The whole concept really leapt out at me.
  12. The most recent film that drove me to distraction, was the latest Mummy film. Just an excuse to get to the special effects. No Rachel Weiz meant no chemistry on screen. I found it a waste of time.
  13. Hi there, Maureen. How's life?
