I read this short story - I think in a hard cover mystery anthology book in my high school library, so published before 1969. Basic plot is girl is murdered, years later her best friend returns to her hometown, finds the doll clothes they were sewing that summer, realizes sewn seams are Morse code leading to discovery of third friend's father as the murderer. I think also a gazebo figures in the story, maybe as where the girls were when they were playing/sewing, etc.
