  1. haha yeah that's true. But i went into it knowing nothing of the story so the story took me by surprise which i loved!
  2. wow makes me wonder if it's worth reading the next two...
  3. The first one is the best so maybe just try that one and see how it goes?
  4. I think illustrations can make a book more enjoyable (less scary for beginning readers). I had a lot of trouble reading at the start and pictures helped me get through long books and figure out what was being said if there was a new word. The Spiderwick series, Tashi and A Series of Unfortunate books have nice illustrations. For longer books, I read The Iron Trial by Holly Black which has little illustrations at the beginning of each chapter.
  5. sounds interesting. hopefully by now the author's released all the books
  6. i've read the first book but didn't enjoy it as much as i thought i would. It was well written and good plot but just didn't click. Not sure if i should read the next ones
  7. Wait.. the dragon thinks his father IS a library? haha It looks really good, i'll have to add it to my tbr
  8. I love this series but sadly couldn't get into the most recent. hoping to try and get into it later
  9. The ending, though not a terrible as it could've been i guess, just broke my heart
  10. I got into the series after all the books were out so no wait. I really enjoyed it, though the 'if clary and jace are related' seemed to just drag on longer than it needed to. I loved Simon and Magnus! Glad they got their own short story series. The Infernal Devices was more enjoyable for me (weird cause i don't like historical, i think one of reason was there was no clary/ jace drama) The new series, Dark Artifacts or something like that, is really good so far. i love the Blackthorn family
  11. So true, after the movie and explain all the differences! Some have been super different but still able to be enjoyed, like Vampire Diaries.
  12. I'm up to the last one but so far i've loved them! the mythology, strong characters and good plots made them so hard to put down. Plus who wouldn't love Tyson the big sweet heart. And the relationship btwn percy and annabeth is so good, it's realistic (most teens don't confess their undying love) and it didn't overwhelm the story.
  13. I have the same problem. I'm in Australia so it can be hard to get US programs. It's on Netflix up to the 3 rd season now. It looks really good but yeah hard to find
  14. I just got into this series (been meaning to read it for ages!) Here's my review: I absolutely LOVED this book!! The scene with Meghan's little brother was so creepy I had to check under my bed! The thing with the dog completely broke my heart. The beginning of the adventure felt well motivated with good twists and turns. The author's writing style was super enjoyable to read, a real page-turner. She's definitely one of my favourites. Puck was hilarious! I'd get sick of him and his pranks in real life but I loved reading about him and his antics. I liked the use of a well-known character, it made him feel like a fuller character. The same goes for other well-known characters used. Grimalkin seemed very similar to The Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland which instantly made me like him. As I got to know him I loved his snarky attitude especially paired with Puck. At first, I found Ash to be a total prick but over the course of the book he won me over. The romance between him and Meghan felt natural, not forced like many romances. Plus, the whole forbidden love angle made it even more addicting! The frightening faeries and creatures were an interesting take on the usual gentle faeries. It felt more in line with the original faeries tales, where faeries were bloodthirsty creatures not to be trusted. Meghan's adventure was an epic trek throughout the entire Nevernever with several unexpected twist and turns. I can not wait to read the rest of the series! I give it 5/5
