  1. Hey guys, I was in waterstones a couple of months ago and was looking at this book which I can't remember what it's called! Its really bugging me now. I remember a few things about it. If I remember correctly, it's about a father who must compete against other people in trails to save his daughter (or family?) There are also pictures in the book examining the trails he faces. Big traps etc. It sounded really interested and ive been looking a while now. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks
  2. Great thanks! I was actually thinking of starting with Mort and now you've recommended it I'm definitely going to!
  3. Thank you! That's a load of help
  4. Hello guys! I'm new here, and new to reading in general! I've occupied myself with games and TV for ages, and i'd like to start reading books. I've always found it hard to concentrate when reading and always find my mind gets distracted, Causing me to read the same page again. I'll also forget what i've just read! I want to get over this and find myself deep into a book. I've heard so many good things about books, and how they're always better then series adaptions. I also love the smell and feel of holding a book, even though i haven't done it for long! Does anyone have any advice on how to help me focus, I'm sure i'm not the only one who has this trouble! :). Thanks, any input would be appreciated
  5. Hey guys, I'm new here and new to reading in general really! I've always found it hard to concentrate when reading a book but i'd like to try again! I went to Waterstones a few weeks a go and decided to purchase 2 books, one was 'The Gospel of Loki' and the other 'The Shepherds Crown' by Terry Pratchett. I've always been really interested in the fantasy genre: D&D, Warhammer, Warcraft etc and i've heard good things about Terry Pratchett books. My main question is, Do I need to read other Pratchett books before reading this one? I know this is the last book he wrote before passing. I'm worried i'll be introduced to many characters who i wont know making the book harder to understand/read. If anyone has any input, it would be great to hear from you! Thanks
